Position Title: Process Operator

Location: Baytown, TX

Job Type: Contract – 6 months. Possible conversion to full-time.

Work modality: On-site / 12-hour shifts.

Pay Rate: US$25.71 /hr W-2

Who We Are Looking For / Requirements

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Process Operator.

Key components we are looking for

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to monitor tank levels, flow meters, gauges, flow rates, pressures, and related controls through instrument panels, computer terminals, and programmable logic control units in the plant and control room via HMI.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing basic operational problems and taking corrective action per procedure.
  • Skilled in loading and unloading hazardous and nonhazardous materials from tanker trucks per SOP using air pressure, centrifugal pumps, or air diaphragm pumps.
  • Experience performing manual labor, including periodically cleaning recessed plate filter presses.
  • Ability to collect unit, product, and feedstock samples and perform routine tests (e.g., Fluoride concentration, specific gravity, pH, and KOH titration).
  • Competence in preparing chemical solutions used in water analysis following standardized formulas or experimental procedures.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional technical training or certifications in process operations, water treatment, or a related field are preferred.

Certifications

  • Relevant certifications in process operations, water treatment, or related areas are a plus.

What You Will Do / Responsibilities

In this highly visible role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Monitoring tank levels, flow meters, gauges, flow rates, pressures, and related controls through instrument panels, computer terminals, and programmable logic control units via HMI in the plant and control room.
  • Monitoring and recording operating conditions observations and data in the area shift log, ensuring conformance to process specifications.
  • Diagnosing basic operational problems and taking corrective action per procedure, verifying and reporting suspected malfunctions and variances to the supervisor.
  • Loading and unloading hazardous and nonhazardous materials from tanker trucks per SOP using air pressure, centrifugal pumps, or air diaphragm pumps with chemical transfer hoses.
  • Performing manual labor, including periodic cleaning of recessed plate filter presses.
  • Collecting unit, product, and feedstock samples in the field as assigned, performing routine tests (e.g., Fluoride concentration, specific gravity, pH, and KOH titration), recording and computing results from test data, and maintaining quality control records and charts as assigned.
  • Preparing chemical solutions used in performing water analysis following standardized formulas or experimental procedures, assisting in inventory maintenance.
