Our Illinois division, located in Vernon Hills, IL seeks a Production/Purchasing Assistant.
Summary
The Production/Purchasing Assistant will help in performing multiple duties related to the purchasing and production functions of the Division. The successful candidate will be committed to the highest level of integrity, trust and responsibility; bring a hands-on approach to day to day operations and exhibit strong communication and organizational skills.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders
Review and select competitive sources for supply of maintenance/stores related items
Negotiate with vendors for the purchase of subcontracted outside production processes, supplies, equipment and services
Process all incoming paperwork, confirm price and verify quantities are accurate
Accurately maintain an inventory system for consumable items
Expedite subcontracted production processes with authority (i.e. heat treating, grinding, plating, etc.)
Measure, analyze and manage the supplier’s performance delivery, quality, cost, order quantities and flexible payment terms
Assist the Supply Chain Manager with maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basis
Issue purchase orders based on authorized requisitions and inventory requirements
Expedite/reschedule releases as required
Uses computer to accurately enter all company required information
Follows policies and procedures as detailed in process documents, immediately brings to the attention of Supervisor/Manager any discrepancies
Assist in physical inventories
Qualifications, Education And Experience
Graduation from high school or receipt of equivalent degree (GED)
Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Safety and OSHA experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and SharePoint
Experience with Plex ERP system is a plus
