The Program Instructor is responsible for supporting the delivery and development of the Twinning Project, an ACFC 10% Community Impact program that supports the professional development of incarcerated individuals through sport. This person works collaboratively with the Twinning Project Program Specialist, ACFC Community team, Pasadena Community College team, and staff from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) to deliver on ACFC's commitments to our three impact pillars of Essentials, Equity, and Education. This individual will support our strategic plans to build strong partnerships and strengthen the ties between the ACFC brand and our impact on the community.

The Program Instructor is responsible for supporting the delivery and development of the Twinning Project, an ACFC 10% Community Impact program that supports the professional development of incarcerated individuals through sport. This person works collaboratively with the Twinning Project Program Specialist, ACFC Community team, Pasadena Community College team, and staff from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) to deliver on ACFC's commitments to our three impact pillars of Essentials, Equity, and Education. This individual will support our strategic plans to build strong partnerships and strengthen the ties between the ACFC brand and our impact on the community.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of Community Impact and Twinning Project Program Specialist to support the multi-year strategic plan for the Twinning program, which is part of ACFC's 10% impact work.
- Represent ACFC with impact partners (e.g., Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department) related to the Twinning Project as a contact for the planning and execution of the program.
- Collaborate with the Director of Community Impact and Twinning Project Program Specialist to ensure flawless execution of all launches, events, soccer activities, and ongoing programming.
- Coach in the Lynwood Century Regional Detention Facility and future facilities with upcoming Twinning Project cohorts.
- Collaborate with the Twinning Project Program Specialist to adapt and evolve the curriculum to align with ACFC values.
- Support the recruitment and training of Twinning Project coaches with the support of the Twinning Project Program Specialist.
- In collaboration with LASD, provide training support through seminars, zoom sessions, etc., to Twinning Project coaches on topics such as:
- Safety
- Best practices on teaching soccer, mental health, etc., to cohort participants
- Support outcome measurement for the Twinning Project program, including research and data collection, survey collection, and synthesis for inclusion in quarterly and annual reports.
- Bachelor's degree or an additional two years of professional experience in lieu of degree required.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional, relevant experience in coaching and/or group management.
- Experience with project management, managing daily activities, and delivering results in a cross-functional environment.
- Excellent communication, analytical, written, and presentation skills.
- Exceptional project management skills and the ability to keep multiple distinct projects on track.
- Coaching experience and soccer knowledge.
- Ability to lead discussions and soccer sessions to deliver programming.
- Open mindset and the ability to connect and adapt with participants.
