What you will be doing:
The Quality Manager will inspect the production and construction processes and the final product to make sure it has been built in compliance with legal standards and meets customer expectations. The duties include developing and implementing quality documentation and control plans, inspecting products at various stages, and writing reports documenting production issues. A Quality Control Manager must fully understand the requirements for the product or service and be responsible for our potential and existing customers and the competition. The goal is to help preserve our reputation by ensuring that our products and services can drive sustainable growth.
Essential Job Functions
Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
Devise and review specifications for products or processes
Set requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance
Develop and implement quality-focused processes
Drive continuous improvement of operations
Supervise inspectors, technicians and other staff and provide guidance and feedback
Oversee all product development procedures to identify deviations from quality standards
Track products through the manufacturing process to ensure that each part of the process is correct
Perform detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards requirements
Take responsibility to approve the right products or reject defectives
Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis
Solicit feedback from customers to assess whether their requirements are met
Support, train, and manage production line staff in production practices and quality assessments
Submit detailed reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
Identify and look for opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient and effective procedures
Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations
Required Qualifications
BSc/ BA in Engineering or business administration or relevant field
Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.)
Working knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement initiatives (8D, Lean, Six Sigma etc.)
Proven experience as quality manager
In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant standards
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Outstanding communication skills to convey information in reports, meetings, and status reports
Conscientious and responsible
Attention to detail and a results-driven approach
Analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills to review systems and processes, find gaps and provide solutions
Knowledge of the product to perform accurate quality control
Proficient in MS Office
Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods
Ability to handle stress and to operate under deadlines set by management while still meeting standards
