Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits currently seeks a Regional Portfolio Ambassador – TX/CO who possesses the below qualifications.

Reporting to the Trade Advocacy Manager, the Regional Portfolio Ambassador will nurture strong relationships in the highest tier of on premise mixology accounts in the geographies covered. Through frequent touchpoints in target accounts, staff trainings, trade activations and account visits, this role is ultimately accountable to secure menu placements in the most desirable accounts across our priority spirit brands: Redemption, Gray Whale, Bib & Tucker and Cantera Negra.

This role regularly interfaces with DFWS sales teams and our distributor partners and will engage both in training to impart their depth of knowledge in the spirits category, inspiring these teams with the story of our brands. There is also strong linkage to the On Premise Channel Marketing team, and the Consumer Brand Team as a consult on drink strategy and on premise programming, and to ensure tight strategic linkage to the brand strategies when in market.

The primary activities for the Regional Portfolio Ambassador are account visits, staff education, and trade activations, both national and local in scale. The position is focused on TX and CO, and the candidate must be based in TX (Dallas, Houston, or Austin).

Responsibilities:

  • Trade Outreach & Engagement (70%)
    • Grow relationships and distribution in core set of influential on-premise accounts (per target account list)
    • Secure new distribution and menu placements in targeted accounts
    • Coordinate follow up with DFWS and distributor sales as needed
    • Conduct staff training
  • Trade Education (5%)
    • Serve as product knowledge expert for DFWS Spirits, communicating features and benefits, heritage and equity of the brands at GSMs
    • Support sales division teams at distributor meetings and events
  • Events (15%)
    • Support national trade events: Tales, Runamok, Portland Cocktail Week, Bartenders’ Weekend
    • Plan and execute local trade activations with bartenders, beverage managers
  • Marketing Support (5%)
    • Serve as commercial expert to help shape drink strategy and on premise programming
  • Reporting (5%)
    • Provide monthly recap of all activities
    • KPI monitoring
    • Report markets trends and competitor activity
Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of the spirits category: production, trends
  • Highly proficient in mixology
  • Charismatic storyteller who enjoys sharing their spirits tales with others
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including writing and delivering presentations
  • Deadline oriented self-starter who is proactive and holds self to high standard of work quality
  • Ability to interface with the distributor network
  • Strong influencing and partnering skills
  • Social media savvy
  • Experience in budget management
  • BS/BA degree in Marketing, desired
  • In market 80%, with appx 25% travel
