General Description

We have an exciting sales opening in our Reliability team, primarily focused on Asset Management, Machinery Health Management, and Optimization. The Reliability Solutions Consultant will be primarily responsible for identifying, pursuing, and achieving success in sales opportunities related to Reliability Solutions and Equipment Monitoring for the assigned territory and/or market segments. The goal is to help our customers achieve improved business results while also maximizing growth & profitability for the company. Opportunities that are pursued by the Reliability Solutions Consultant will incorporate new and/or existing products and services offered by Emerson, R.E. Mason, and complementary suppliers. Market research and significant prospecting will be required. The Reliability Solutions Consultant will collaborate with other sales resources within the geography who are focused on other product lines (process systems, controls, etc.).



Specific Responsibilities

Reliability Sales Responsibilities

  • Develop applications knowledge for all primary products and service responsibilities for the customers located in assigned territory/segment including:
  • Reliability Solutions Products including but not limited to Emerson's AMS Software Suite, 2140 Portable Analyzers, 9530 Wireless Vibration Monitors, Online Units such as Asset Monitor/6500 Prediction/6500ATG Protection
  • R.E. Mason Reliability Services (Engineering, Installed Base Support, Data Collection & Analysis, Training, etc.)
  • Reliability Consulting Services
  • Associated 3rd Party Products or Buyouts
  • Act as the Sales subject matter expert for vibration, oil analysis, thermography, and other condition-based monitoring technologies, while collaborating with Sales Management and the Reliability Team to support meeting company objectives
  • Responsible for identifying reliability opportunities, developing the pursuit strategy, organizing, and leading the applicable sales support team(s). Depending on the pursuit, the sales support team can be comprised of Territory Account Manager(s), Solution Consultant(s), Application Engineer(s), Sales Coordinator(s), Business Unit Leader(s), Engineering and Service Personnel.
  • Deliver sales results for route-based data collection products for predictive maintenance programs
  • Deliver sales results for offline and online monitoring systems, on prem and cloud based, which incorporate wired and wireless devices, simple A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) or advanced analytics with Machine Learning.
  • Deliver sales results for project execution services include project management, installation, and configuration of both offline and online systems
  • Identify Reliability & Maintenance Consulting Service opportunities
  • Approximately 75% travel, across NC - must reside in NC
  • This role is not applicable to the states of New York or Colorado


General Sales Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strategic business and personal relationships with installed customer and prospective accounts through face-to-face meetings
  • Qualify sales opportunities and respond to customer inquiries
  • Identify, pursue, and capture business growth opportunities
  • Ensure quotations and proposal responses are prepared to match opportunity requirements
  • Leverage risk management and legal resources to negotiate Commercial Terms & Conditions
  • Remain abreast of new technologies and industry trends
  • Actively participate in internal department meetings and training
  • Utilize sales tools, CRM, and business systems to fulfill planning, tracking, forecasting, and other reporting requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline
  • 3+ years of relevant Reliability experience

  • Customer facing sales experience with proven results
  • Experience with Emerson Reliability products and services
  • CMRP Certification
  • Seniority level
