The Opportunity
We're seeking a dynamic Sales Development Manager to join our Grain/Specialty sales team. This is an exciting remote, home-office based field sales position, ideal for a "hunter" who thrives on supporting and growing sales in their assigned territory. We prefer candidates based in the Midwest region (IN/IL/IA/MO).
What You'll Do
Drive product adoption and implement successful business development plans
Support and grow sales in your assigned territory
Conduct market planning and assessment for our product portfolio
Work closely with sales directors, regional managers, and business managers to achieve target market development and sales goals
Report on market conditions and competitive landscape
Partner with key accounts to develop market adoption strategies
Manage company resources effectively for optimal return on investment
Represent our company at industry associations, trade shows, and seminars
Provide valuable marketplace feedback and product management suggestions
Who You Are
A highly motivated self-starter who can work independently
An excellent communicator with strong presentation skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
A strategic thinker with strong business acumen and planning skills
Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Qualifications
BS/BA degree in Animal Science, Agribusiness, Agronomy, Ag Economics, Ag Education, Entomology, or related scientific field
3+ years of sales experience in Life Sciences Industry or Agriculture, preferably in Agri-chemicals or stored grain channels
Proven track record of successful sales results
Excellent prospecting and cold calling skills
Strong field-based marketing and business planning abilities
High energy and enthusiasm for market development
Travel Requirements
Up to 75% travel within your territory, including frequent overnight stays
