The Opportunity

We're seeking a dynamic Sales Development Manager to join our Grain/Specialty sales team. This is an exciting remote, home-office based field sales position, ideal for a "hunter" who thrives on supporting and growing sales in their assigned territory. We prefer candidates based in the Midwest region (IN/IL/IA/MO).

What You'll Do

  • Drive product adoption and implement successful business development plans
  • Support and grow sales in your assigned territory
  • Conduct market planning and assessment for our product portfolio
  • Work closely with sales directors, regional managers, and business managers to achieve target market development and sales goals
  • Report on market conditions and competitive landscape
  • Partner with key accounts to develop market adoption strategies
  • Manage company resources effectively for optimal return on investment
  • Represent our company at industry associations, trade shows, and seminars
  • Provide valuable marketplace feedback and product management suggestions

Who You Are

  • A highly motivated self-starter who can work independently
  • An excellent communicator with strong presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • A strategic thinker with strong business acumen and planning skills
  • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Animal Science, Agribusiness, Agronomy, Ag Economics, Ag Education, Entomology, or related scientific field
  • 3+ years of sales experience in Life Sciences Industry or Agriculture, preferably in Agri-chemicals or stored grain channels
  • Proven track record of successful sales results
  • Excellent prospecting and cold calling skills
  • Strong field-based marketing and business planning abilities
  • High energy and enthusiasm for market development

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 75% travel within your territory, including frequent overnight stays
