Hybrid Schedule: Our hybrid work environment includes two (2) remote days/week.

Rust-Oleum Corporation is a worldwide leader in protective paints and coatings for both home and industry. We offer a wide range of products including decorative fashion paints, durable industrial roof repair coatings and, of course, our famous rust-fighting formula that started it all.

Job Purpose

The Sales Trainer is an important member of the Sales team. This position reports to Sr. Manager, Sales Training and is responsible for helping to support, inform, and engage our sales team to help drive the company’s performance, growth and impact. This role will also assist with the design, development and delivery of training programs in order to improve the knowledge and skills of the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Craft impactful training programs, materials and presentations.
  • Produce physical and digital educational material (e.g. videos and case studies)
  • Collaborate closely with teams across the organization to ensure consistency and alignment across all training programs.
  • Identify needs for sales skills improvement.
  • Master and teach our sales process.
  • Evaluate sales skills and abilities of sales associates through ride-alongs and customer visits. Coach and reinforce the sales process.
  • Serve as a resource to the entire sales team.
  • Onboard new sales associates with appropriate product, process and system training.
  • Organize and coordinate in-person and virtual training events.
  • Consult with employees' supervisors to report on developmental needs and training opportunities.
  • Develop individual coaching plans.
  • Collect feedback from trainees and managers about training courses.
  • Maintain updated records of training material, curricula and costs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in a sales role
  • Minimum 5 years in the coatings industry
  • Advanced customer service and time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to design effective training programs
  • Outstanding coaching skills
  • Great organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to measure performance
