Job Description

The Program Manager, Store Development is responsible for expanding our store footprint. This individual will drive the successful opening of new stores and is passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and has a deep passion for store development. Outstanding project management and communication skills, both written and verbal are required. 



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams (including Real Estate, Construction, Data Analytics, Legal, Strategy, Finance individual Business Units and Operations) and external partners (Brokers, consultants, contractors) to deliver new store locations.
  • Manage the end-to-end process (“pipeline”) of opening new stores, from site selection to lease negotiation, permitting and construction.
  • Identify bottlenecks and blockers within the pipeline and work with stakeholders to develop and implement solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and other external partners.
  • Manage the cross-functional meetings that facilitate the new store opening process prior to Operations hand-off.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless handoff from Real Estate to Legal to Construction and Operations teams.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on new store pipeline and key milestones.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics and competitive landscape.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the asset management team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Location requirements: [Seattle, WA]
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in real estate program management, preferably in retail or commercial real estate or 5 years program management or similar experience at Nordstrom.
  • Strong understanding of lease negotiations, site selection and construction processes or the structure and processes of Nordstrom.
  • Excellence project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in real estate software and tools
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving business objectives.
  • Ability to travel as needed for site visits and meetings.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $103,500- $175,000 annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
