Security Monitor

Description: Under the general direction of the Coordinator of Safety and Security and the building principal, assist staff in overall safety, security and operation of the school.
Job Summary: 8 hours/day, 5 days/week, 197 days/year. Assist in protecting school property and the rights of individuals; assist in the supervision of student movement and activity in and around school grounds; assist in the supervision of priority areas such as halls, cafeteria and restrooms before, during and after school; contribute to the accomplishment of the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District goals; perform other responsibilities as required by the Department or the School District.
Minimum Qualifications
Previous successful work experience in a school environment or in a position involving safety and security procedures
Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments, resolve conflicts, and work effectively with students and staff
Excellent interpersonal skills
Physical ability to stand and patrol areas for extended periods of time, and to perform all essential functions of the job
OPOTA police or private security certification
A GED or a high school diploma
Salary: $23.64/hour; Step 1
