Senior Manager, Program and Alliance Management

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the VP, Corporate Development, the new position of Senior Manager, Program and Alliance Management will be an essential part of supporting all Xilio clinical programs. Vital to the success of this role is effective program management that enables efficient and quality cross-functional execution of programs, fully owned and partnered. On occasion the person in this role may also be a supportive partner to the Vice President pertaining to business development activities.

This is a hybrid, flexible position based in Waltham, MA, which offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, small public biotech company dedicated to bringing potentially transformative therapies to cancer patients.

Responsibilities

Provide program and alliance management expertise to Xilio’s clinical program and strategic partnerships.

  • Develop agendas, help manage partner meetings, document key discussion points and decisions, and distribute information as appropriate to key stakeholders.
  • Manage, monitor, track and communicate cross-functional program timelines, deliverables, risk registers, agenda trackers, critical path, and cross program dashboards.
  • Proactively identify potential issues or risks proactively, and diplomatically collaborate with others to plan effective mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor issues through resolution and support communication to key stakeholders, ensuring they are informed of outcomes and program implications.
  • Proactively address and remove barriers to program progress, keeping leadership informed of critical considerations (e.g., resources, performance).
  • With the Vice President’s guidance and support, resolve complex issues and competing priorities that may impact achievement of goals.
  • Enthusiastically play lead role when needed in both the program management and alliance management spaces, and when organizing and coordinating work behind the scenes.
  • On occasion / as requested, support select business development work including due diligence activities.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of related work experience in the life sciences industry, with 1-3 years of demonstrated project management experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven record of either successful program or alliance management work in life sciences. Ideally experienced in both.
  • Biotech or biopharma experience in Oncology preferred
  • Strong knowledge of clinical development at all stages and of relevant functions including manufacturing within the life sciences industry.
  • Experienced in working across multiple scientific and business areas of an organization, including stakeholders at all levels of the business up to the Executive Committee
  • Experienced in managing shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, cross-functional teamwork environment. Ability to adapt to changes to project plans, and to quickly embrace and implement new strategies and tactics to accommodate these changes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including ability to synthesize, analyze, prioritize, and distill complex information into clear and succinct summaries and recommendations.
  • Prior success in building sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders through engendering trust and collaborative behaviors.
  • PMP, or equivalent certification, preferred.
