About the Role: This position is primarily responsible for procuring and pricing ocean freight for GES’s existing customers and prospects. This position is also responsible for managing RTA (Rate Agreements) in Cargosphere and Cargo Wise, auditing carrier payables and FMC filing.
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret ocean contracts for both imports and exports
Speak to carriers and truckers to negotiate best overall solutions to quote.
Coordinate pricing between sales, US Operations and overseas operations.
Analyze margins
Work in CargoSphere (contract management) to prepare quotes.
File approved quotes with FMC.
Work in CargoWise (operating system)
Quote for Ocean FCL and LCL services both import and export.
Process RFQ’s for existing and future customers.
Work closely with Management and Business Development Manager’s on new and existing opportunities.
Develop creative solutions to help close new business.
Maintain customer’s rate agreements, free time and keep it up to date.
Maintain contracts with service providers such as shipping lines and truckers to make sure that rates are up to date.
Maintain and develop relationships with service providers to secure competitive rates and excellent service.
Audit and dispute ocean payments with SSL’s.
Performs other duties as assigned and requested by management.
Qualifications:
Educational and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; 2-5 years of experience is preferred. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Works independently and is Customer Service oriented. LATAM pricing experience
Preferred Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software; Internet software; Order processing systems and Spreadsheet software. Industry related software
