About The Role

Ouro Corporation is seeking an experienced and talented Software Engineering Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation and excellence in engineering practices. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing multiple teams of software engineers, overseeing the development of software products, and driving the technical vision and strategy for the team. We are specifically looking for a hands-on manager who can contribute technically to the team's projects while also providing leadership and guidance. This role will involve close collaboration with technical operations, product, and design teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to help them grow and excel in their roles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, technical operations, and quality assurance, to define project requirements, priorities, and timelines.
  • Drive the technical vision and strategy for the team, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in engineering processes and practices.
  • Oversee the development of software products from conception to delivery, ensuring high quality, performance, and scalability.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning within the engineering team.
  • Implement Agile or Extreme Programming (XP) methodologies to drive iterative development, frequent delivery, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for software development, including code reviews, testing methodologies, and documentation standards.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and deployment processes.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Utilize Kafka or similar messaging systems for building real-time data processing pipelines.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability, leveraging AWS services and best practices.
  • Actively partner with technical operations, product, and design teams to ensure alignment on project goals, priorities, and timelines.
  • Drive operational excellence within the engineering team, ensuring efficient and reliable software delivery processes.
  • Actively contribute to the technical development of the team's projects, including writing code, conducting code reviews, and providing technical guidance.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies, and leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software products.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, with a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of engineers.
  • Strong technical skills in Java or similar web based programming languages, as well as experience with AWS cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, and Kafka or similar messaging systems.
  • Experience implementing Agile or Extreme Programming (XP) methodologies for software development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a results-oriented mindset and a commitment to delivering value to customers.
  • Experience working in consumer and payments related industries is a plus.
