The SnowSports Manager will be responsible for the culture, administration, recruitment, training, operations, labor management, and profitability of the SnowSports School.

Come work and play at Seattle’s home mountain, The Summit at Snoqualmie. Located an hour from Seattle, at the junction where the Pacific Crest Trail crosses Interstate 90. With summer activities ramping up with spectacular Mountain Biking trails and Scenic Lift Rides, there is lots to do all year long.

Responsibilities

Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Effectively communicate to develop rapport with existing staff and enhance employee retention, commitment and engagement.
  • Identify recruitment needs for ski/ride, youth/adults, rookie/veteran and by base area.
  • Develop creative recruitment strategies to achieve targeted number of required staff.
  • Drive recruitment, onboarding and end of season separation for departmental base area staff. Coordinate uniform inventory management, distribution and return, for base area staff.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling and staff accountability to optimize instructor head count and cover programming (i.e. products, prices, times, locations) adequately, by moving resources to cover demand.
  • Train and oversee professional development of indoor staff and instructors to guide early childhood, youth, teen and adult experiences, through sales, administration and on-snow time.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • Profound working knowledge of the Summit SnowSports School or another School of similar scope.
  • Level 2 PSIA/AASI Certification and Youth Credentials preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum amount of supervision.
  • Ability to evolve, adapt and change.
  • Capability to deal with deadlines and workplace pressure, while maintaining a professional presentation.
  • Ability to prioritize high value, high leverage projects, over lower priority tasks to deliver within a lively, and often chaotic, environment.
  • Ability to guide quality experiences for guests and employees, time and time again.

Wage And Benefit Info

The wage range for this positions is: from $25.50 to $30.25

This is a non-benefited role.

All individuals may contribute to the 401(k). An employee must work 1,000 hours in a calendar year to qualify for the discretionary match (there is a 2 year vesting cliff).

All individuals accrue sick time at 1 hour per 40 hours worked to a maximum of 64 hours per year.
