The Human Resources Business Partner is a vital member of our onsite HR team at our Baltimore/Curtis Bay, MD manufacturing site. They will be involved with full life cycle recruiting, onboarding processes, HR projects and programs, training, labor/employee relations, and investigations. Responsibilities
Assures environmental compliance and a safe working environment for employees at the Site.
Provides general human resources services for the organization to include labor/employee relations, recruitment, staff development and succession planning, and administration of company policies.
Work closely with managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s hiring needs and meet competitive hiring goals and expectations.
Manage the full recruiting lifecycle across a variety of open roles helping management find, hire, and retain quality talent.
Proposes, develops various human resources policies and procedures.
Participates in employee career development, discussing careers paths with line managers and recommending suitable candidates for promotion.
Responsible for aspects of labor relations to include administering labor policies, participation in contract negotiations, interpretation of the collective bargaining agreement, and coordinating the grievance process as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
Responsible for employee relations to include providing advice and counsel on personnel issues, investigating and responding to employee concerns/questions. Supports employee communications functions.
Management of Employee Leave Programs
Conducts research, assimilates data and creates appropriate reports for HR metrics.
The ability to analysis above data to identify trends; make recommendations for HR services improvements to assist with the success of the Curtis Bay Site.
Conduct training for line management in areas of expertise.
Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements at the Site.
Understands the needs for attention to detail and accuracy as a HR professional and performs at a successful level per W.R. Grace standards
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
BS in Human Resources or related field
5+ years professional experience supporting a diverse employee population, to include exempt and union personnel.
Experience with HRIS systems, preferably SAP Success Factors.
Excellent communications skills to include written and verbal communications as well as active listening.
Interpersonal savvy to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
Exhibits sound and accurate judgment skills as well as ability to make appropriate, timely decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working in a manufacturing setting.
Kronos experience
Results and action-oriented approach to work.
Leadership of focused projects.
Functional knowledge of online HR tools and resources.
Creative approaches to challenges, opportunities and problem solving.
Professional in Human Resources Certification.
