Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Job Summary:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager will be the key leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing engineering at our Tualatin, Oregon facility. This role will involve managing a team of manufacturing engineers, driving continuous improvement initiatives, implementing lean manufacturing practices, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality products. The Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize processes, resolve technical issues, and support the company's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma methodologies, and process optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, supply chain, and R&D, to support new product introductions and resolve technical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements in all manufacturing processes.
  • Manage capital projects related to manufacturing equipment, facilities, and automation systems.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven decisions.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process specifications.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for manufacturing-related issues.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in manufacturing engineering.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments and levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements applicable to manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and familiarity with CNC machining and programming preferred.
  • Ability to analyze manufacturing data using statistical methods and software tools.
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements and driving operational excellence.
  • Experience in the automotive, aerospace, or semiconductor industries is preferred.
  • Certification in lean manufacturing (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing software applications.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed.


Other duties may be assigned as needed to meet business objectives. This is a 100% onsite position.
