Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Residential Life and Community Standards, the Student Conduct Officer works collaboratively with multiple offices, including, but not limited to Residential Life, Campus Safety, The Office of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), Student Accessibility Services, Title IX, and Counseling and Health Services to ensure a safe, Supportive campus experience for students.
Schedule/Location:
Flexible. Office work and conduct hearings may be arranged to suit the Student Conduct Officer's schedule. On-campus office provided, remote work is negotiable.

Core Functions and Duties:
- Conduct investigations when necessary
- Set meetings with students which accommodate their academic schedules
- Using empathy and active listening, discuss any alleged conduct violations
- Following the sanctioning rubric as a guide, collaborate with student to decide sanctions as necessary
- Maintain education as the primary goal of all student conduct hearings
- Creates cases within the University's conduct management application, Maxient
- Prior to hearing, document each student's contact information, as well as any charges
- Ensure investigations and hearings are conducted in a timely manner
- Following conduct hearings, provide outcomes and sanctions, including rationale
- Send charge letters and outcome letters; cc all relevant personnel
- Maintain application in accordance with community needs
- Work with various departments to ensure their needs are being met via Maxient
- Run analytics as needed
- Work with Maxient representative to troubleshoot any issues
- Read each incoming incident report
- Determine appropriate direction for each Incident Report
- Other duties as assigned
- A combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be attained and developed
- Enthusiasm and interest in working with college students in their development and learning through a holistic lens
- Strong organization and time management skills and experience
- An appreciation for and willingness to uphold the mission and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) value statement of the institution
- A commitment to fair treatment for all students, even under vexing circumstances
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of diverse individuals including students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, administrators, Town of Rindge officials, vendors, and other individuals/groups from outside the University
- Strong communication skills, both verbaland written
- A commitment to professionalism and service within your role
- Active engagement in ongoing professional development opportunities for the continued benefit of performance
- Adherence to the policies and procedures established by Franklin Pierce University
- A 4-Year degree in a relevant field
- Experience working at a rural, small private liberal arts institution of higher education
- Experience working in conduct, coaching, or similar fields
- membership in Professional Organizations that are associated with Student Conduct
