Role Overview: As the Venture Capital HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in building and managing our human resources function. You will be responsible for developing HR strategies, policies, and programs that support our firm’s mission, culture, and growth objectives. Roles And Responsibilities

  • HR Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the firm’s business goals and long-term objectives.
    • Collaborate with senior management to establish workforce planning initiatives and talent acquisition strategies.
  • Talent Acquisition and Management:
    • Oversee the full lifecycle of recruitment processes for the firm, including sourcing, interviewing, and selecting candidates.
    • Partner with investment professionals to support talent acquisition needs for portfolio companies, leveraging industry networks and recruitment strategies.
  • Employee Relations and Engagement:
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management on HR-related issues, policies, and procedures.
    • Foster a positive employee experience through effective communication, conflict resolution, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Performance Management and Development:
    • Implement performance management systems and processes to support employee development and goal alignment.
    • Facilitate performance reviews, career development discussions, and succession planning efforts across the firm and portfolio companies.
  • Compensation and Benefits Administration:
    • Manage compensation programs, including salary benchmarking, bonus structures, and equity-based incentives.
    • Administer employee benefits programs, ensuring competitive offerings and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • HR Compliance and Policy Development:
    • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, updating policies and practices as needed.
    • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures that promote fairness, consistency, and a positive work environment.
  • Learning and Development:
    • Identify training and development needs, design learning programs, and facilitate leadership development initiatives.
    • Support knowledge sharing and continuous learning opportunities for employees and portfolio company executives.
Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR) preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role, preferably within the venture capital, private equity, or startup ecosystem.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compensation.
  • Experience managing HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with analytical skills to assess HR metrics and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
