Environmental Commodities Corporation (ECC) is a small, Boulder-based company that is making a huge impact in the fight against climate change. We are a team of smart, committed environmentalists that make a business of destroying pollution. ECC designed, built, and now operates one of the world's largest portfolios of projects that destroy greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. Our business model is primarily based on deploying pollution control equipment that generates carbon credits, which we monetize to fund operations and growth.


This position is for an environmentalist that wants to use all aspects of their MBA to grow one of the largest environmental companies in Colorado. We are looking for a leader with over 5 years of professional experience to assist with and execute all aspects of running and growing the company.


Responsibilities include:

  •  Strategic analysis
  • Financial modeling
  • Origination due diligence
  • Contract negotiation
  • General business management


To help set expectations, a typical day might look include the following:


  •  7:00-8:00 arrive at office.
  • Review field operations from the previous night for any high priority operational needs.
  • Check status of equipment improvements to ensure operators have adequate support.
  • Update deployment schedule based on feedback from equipment suppliers. Coordinate billing schedule with bookkeeper based on supplier schedules. Note significant changes for quarterly budget review.
  • Review new business opportunity with President then build financial model that reflects financial and environmental returns on investment.
  • Discuss with environmental expert colleagues the eligibility of the new business opportunity to generate carbon credits. Incorporate feedback into the financial model.
  • Review edits to a contract from a client’s attorney. Ensure edits preserve our financial position and maintain environmental integrity of our work.
  • Courtesy call to a state regulators to maintain strong relations.
  • Check for correspondence from staff prior to departing.
  • 5:00-6:00 depart.


Success in this position will be a strong sense of pride for being part of a team that destroys greenhouse gases all day and all night, every day of the year, and for helping the team grow and increase its environmental impact.


Applicants invited to in-person interviews will be asked to demonstrate their knowledge of financial modeling in MS Excel, share a professional writing sample, and give a short persuasive presentation to staff.


The position is located in downtown Boulder. Employees are required to work in an office setting during normal business hours and in accordance with government guidelines.


Work will be 90-95% in the office and 5-10% travel to field locations in the Rocky Mountains and Appalachia.


A background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle records check are required for the position.
