An esteemed media investment firm that specializes in helping brands achieve their objectives by utilizing excess assets to acquire media is searching for a strategic Business Development Leader. The ideal candidate will possess a background in brand management, as well as expertise in P&L management, sales, and marketing.

Position Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic revenue generating professional to join our team, focusing on driving growth through new business pursuits. The person will be responsible for identifying and prospecting new clients, cultivating relationships, and closing deals to expand our customer base. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in business development, with a strong ability to uncover opportunities, articulate value propositions, and drive results.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Develop strategies to source and create new business opportunities through individual research, various personal networking tactics, attending conferences/trade shows, and participating in professional organizations. Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, pain points, and business challenges to tailor sales pitches and solutions accordingly.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target organizations. Conduct thorough needs assessments and discovery meetings to understand prospect requirements and objectives. Establish trust and credibility by providing insights, industry knowledge, and value-added solutions that address needs.
  • Presentations and Proposals: Deliver compelling sales presentations that effectively communicate the concept of trade and the benefits that can be achieved through media partnership. Prepare and present customized proposals, quotes, and contracts to prospective clients, outlining the solution, pricing, and terms of engagement. Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Closing Deals: Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to reach mutually beneficial agreements that drive revenue growth. Overcome objections and address concerns raised by prospective clients to secure commitment and close deals. Follow up diligently on leads and opportunities, maintaining accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in CRM software.
  • Market Intelligence and Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and competitive threats. Analyze sales data and performance metrics to track progress against targets and identify areas for improvement.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Strong business acumen
  • Brand Managment experience preferred
  • Experience in fundamental sales practices, strategies, and approaches as well as interpersonal motivation techniques.
  • Negotiation skills (experience with contract/deal term negotiation)
  • Established track record of success in leading sales process in large organizations and working with C-suite executives.
