Definition

The Vice President of Program Services is responsible for the administration and functioning of Renewal, Inc.’s, Pathway to Care and Recovery program, licensed AOD and mental health programming, re-entry services, intake services including providing oversight of all residential and non-residential program services. This individual will address the needs and concerns of staff and clients. This individual will ensure all programs are in compliance with governing authorities, oversight jurisdictions and contracting agencies. Additionally, this person will ensure compliance with licensing and accreditation agencies to include the American Correctional Association, Department of Drug and Alcohol Program and the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. This person should perform with a high degree of initiation and independent judgment in accordance with established organization policies and procedures; Recommend to the Executive Management team and/or President & CEO in areas of recruitment and hiring of staff under their direct supervision. Recommend to the Executive team policies and procedures, wage and salary administration, performance reviews, records, preparation of proposals and grants, and participate in contract negotiations. This individual will work as a liaison between the organization and contracting agencies.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must have the ability to manage a 24/7 on call status.

Education And/or Experience

Knowledge of criminal justice system, as well as the behavioral health, substance use disorders and business community. Demonstrated ability to manage resources and supervise work effectively and efficiently with all levels of management; self starting, motivated, and adept to changing technology; Proven skills at problem solving, strategic planning, conducting research; Must possess strong mentoring and training skills; Should be computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets and databases.

Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice or related field and ten (10) years’ experience working in a correctional, human services, or nonprofit setting is required for this position. A minimum of 5 years’ management experience required.
