Our primary mission is to control the spread of wildfires in order to reduce the impact on people, property, and planet, with highly effective solutions. We focus on all markets. We deliver solutions by strategically integrating in-market tools with a branded service wrapper.


Overview

The VP Sales & Business Development is responsible for securing customers, developing the annual sales plan, and locating and proposing potential business and partnerships. You'll use a consultative selling approach, your wildfire technical expertise, and your ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with partners and customers toward established goals. You will research customer needs and develop an understanding of their applications, then apply the proper Team Wildfire technologies to improve their overall cost of ownership and productivity. You'll work in collaboration with an amazing group of individuals at Team Wildfire, across all business functions.


Responsibilities and Job Duties

  1. Discovers and explores business opportunities. 
  2. Develop new sales areas and improve sales through various methods.
  3. Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, and financials.
  4. Maintain current client relationships and identify areas for potential clients.
  5. Contacts potential clients to establish and build a business relationship.
  6. Research the latest in the business industry and create new opportunities to expand business.
  7. Build the sales strategy and sales plan to ensure requirements are met, such as sales numbers, profit goals, and reports on KPIs monthly.
  8. Follow up on leads (both self-generated and provided through marketing initiatives)
  9. Timely and accurate utilization of our CRM systems to track customer pipeline, record and maintain clear notes, and report to the team as needed.
  10. Be keenly familiar with and demonstrate the ability to work with a wide variety of customers including government, business, and consumers.
  11. Applies excellent selling, negotiation and communication skills.
  12. Applies prioritization, time management and organizational skills.
  13. Applies management skills, is open to feedback
  14. Creates and delivers presentations tailored to audience needs.


Required Qualifications

  1. Specific knowledge and sales experience in the wildland fire industry, for example closing sales of fire engines and other fire apparatus and tools.
  2. A minimum of 7-10 years of proven sales experience.
  3. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or a similar area.
  4. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, in order to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely.
  5. Technical skills required to create proposals and find solutions to meet client requirements, such as using software programs and machines.
  6. Skilled with independent, proactive management of time.
  7. Excellent organizational skills to meet goals and set priorities.
  8. Is experienced with sales tracking tools such as Hubspot, Salesforce etc.
  9. Is proactive, organized and handles work under stressful and uncertain environments.
  10. Must be proficient with the use of Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and demonstrate ability to manage data.


Work Environment

This position may require frequent travel both by land and air within the continental USA.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee/contractor is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee/contractor is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account various factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
