What The Role Is

The Vice President of Supply Chain will lead and manage the Sourcing, Customer Service, and Supply Chain Operations across global operations. This position will direct, oversee, and coordinate the supply chain functions across all Heaven Hill domestic and international operations facilities ensuring policies, procedures, and practices are consistent and are aligned with Heaven Hill corporate values and strategies. The VP will direct the movement, storage, or processing of inventory for imported and exported finished goods and all domestic finished goods while providing oversight, planning, evaluating, analyzing, and coordinating forecast requirements. This position will procure and direct the sourcing, movement, and storage of all inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods, both cased and bulk, for Heaven Hill’s bottling operations, domestic and international.

The Vice President of Supply Chain is accountable for both leading the business transformation journey in the development of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process and advancing the analytics capability and digital technology to transform demand planning and predictive forecasting.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

S&OP Process Operational Accountability

  • Overall responsibility to develop strategy and implement plans to support attainment of supply chain key objectives in the areas of cost, on-time delivery, lead time reduction, while maximizing inventory turns
  • Evolve S&OP process in cooperation with Senior Leadership across Sales, Marketing, Production, and Finance
  • Report on key metrics related to supply chain objectives including cost, delivery, and inventory management
  • Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality assurance

Demand Planning And Analytics Accountability

  • Leverage knowledge of best practices, business analytics capability and digital technology to transform our demand planning capabilities to driver-based forecasting. Accountable to achieve sales forecast accuracy targets, leveraging Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to achieve year-on-year improvement
  • Manage the master schedule and master demand forecasts to balance the overall capacity, material availability, inventory and customer service levels required to meet company objectives
  • Direct and oversee the scheduling of production ensuring customer demands are met

Global Logistics, Sourcing And Inventory Management

  • Direct and oversee inbound and outbound fleet management and inbound raw material warehousing
  • Manage domestic and international finished goods warehouse management and 3 rd party outside warehousing
  • Direct and oversee vendor managed inventory at control state bailment warehouses
  • Develop and support the strategy and the overall management of inventory control programs insuring a high level of inventory accuracy and data integrity.
  • Direct and oversee domestic and international suppliers, vendors, freight forwarders, or purchasing functions including price negotiation, contracting, product releases and vendor qualification

Customer Service

  • Manage domestic and international customer service and shipping coordination including order entry, traffic, and customer communication
  • Responsible for developing satisfactory partnerships and relationships with our distributor and retailer customer networks

Leadership

  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership teams in finance, marketing, sales, production, and IT to develop and execute the digital transformation roadmap. Provide consistent updates on progress as requested
  • Develop and leverage professional networks to identify best practices as an effective approach to continuously improve S&OP process, planning and fulfillment capabilities. Assess the company’s capabilities against external benchmark to accelerate continuous improvement
  • Promote and support a continuous improvement environment that continuously works to identify patterns and problems and implement effective solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Lead managers and direct reports to evaluate and take actions consistent with the company’s overall goals and strategy
  • Lead talent assessment and development for team. Coordinate and support employee training and development, creating a learning organization, to meet operational needs, strengthen teamwork and provide opportunities for promotion
  • Develop strong collaborative partnerships with marketing, sales, finance, and operations teams

Who You Are…

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field or equivalent supervisory/management experience
  • Minimum 10 years of demonstrated operational performance leading the S&OP and fulfillment processes for a major business unit in a CPG industry
  • Minimum 7 years Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques
  • Must have a clear understanding of operations, supply chain management – procurement, demand planning, scheduling, materials management, and adequate knowledge of the distilled spirits manufacturing industry
  • Excellent negotiation skills; able to influence outcomes in a cross-functional team environment
  • Experience leading and managing sub-contract relationships including familiarity with pricing strategies and negotiation tactics
  • Thorough knowledge of inventory management including purchasing, product yield and inventory control
  • Proven ability to work with all levels of the organization as well as across functions (sales, marketing, finance, customer services, operations) to drive team-based goal achievement in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid analytical, communication, interpersonal, presentation and time management skills
  • Reacts to situations with a sense of urgency and drives robust solutions to problems, able to balance multiple priorities
  • Up-to-date knowledge of technical developments in the industry
  • Must possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Organized, detail oriented and methodical – equally adept at planning, organizing, and executing
  • Willingness to make and be accountable for decisions
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems

Valued But Not Required Skills And Experience

  • MBA Preferred
  • CPIM and/or APICS Certification
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification
  • Advanced computer proficiency

While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
