I have been actively applying + interviewing for a variety of roles, with no such luck in landing my next opportunity. Sadly my role has been impacted by redundancy and so I find myself back on the job market. Does directly relevant experience have to be the sole determining factor for gaining a job opportunity? Or can a combination of transferable skills and proven success from various roles be just as valuable? Throughout my career transitions, I've accumulated a diverse toolkit - with adaptability, drive, and relationship-building prowess being some of my strongest assets. Hello network! I’ve taken my time in writing this sort of post as in this extremely challenging market I’ve tried to maintain a positive outlook, something that gets harder and harder as time passes. Hundreds of applications, a sizeable number without a response. Ghosting. Gaslighting. I really feel for the thousands of fellow job seekers in the same position. What is galling is that there are still companies who are operating, quite frankly, appallingly when it comes to candidate care in this climate. 2 interviews (3 if you include the Sunday morning interview with the recruiter) with positive feedback over a 2 week period, only this morning to receive the news that the Global Talent Head ‘has someone in mind’ for the role… Not good enough by any standard in any market condition. Bullet dodged? Probably. Does that make it easier to take? Not remotely. My network have been brilliantly supportive and helpful over the past 12+ months so a massive thank you to you all, but I’m asking for help again. I’m immediately available for temp or perm recruiter, talent acquisition partner or manager roles in London or remote. Please keep me in mind for anything that pops up. Keep the chin up and we go again!

I just don't know what to do... I've been out of the job market for over 10 years and apparently a lot has changed. My personal job search has gotten zero results so I've decided to try and utilize a temp/placement agency. I've called 6 local agencies and uploaded my resume/applied to their job boards and gotten nothing back. Robert Half Aquent Talent Teksystems Parker Staffing Opti Staffing Molly Brown Temps I call and it goes straight to VM with no call back. I'm told I have to apply to one of their positions before I can talk to a human and they will notify me. They don't. I'm told I'll be escalated or transferred to the appropriate agent. It goes straight to VM and/or no call back. I've applied to at least 50 plus jobs and nothing. Most don't even send a confirmation email saying my application was received. For some of those I specifically tailored my resume and cover letter using the job requisition and nothing. I am out of ideas, I need help, I need a human and I can't figure out how to get anyone to see me. I'm not looking for a business opportunity or a training program or anything that requires money up front. I'm looking for a job. Any leads or help finding help would be much appreciated!!
