So much wisdom in this post!
As I celebrate my birthday today, I'm reflecting on how much it’s built into our youth-worshipping culture that we have to do everything by the time we’re 30. But as I’ve learned first-hand, we can build our dreams at any age! 💜

In China, #women face intense work pressure after turning 30. They're unfairly judged when starting families, as if they have to choose between career and family. It's time for organizations to #redefine valuable contributions from women. By recognizing their unique skills, perspectives, and experiences, we can create an #inclusive work environment. Embracing #flexible arrangements and offering parental leave and childcare support will help women balance responsibilities effectively. Let's empower women to succeed throughout their careers by providing #growth opportunities, #mentorship, and equal pay. Challenging #stereotypes and promoting work-life balance and gender equality unlocks women's full potential, benefiting organizations and society. #WomenEmpowerment #InclusiveWorkplace

Arianna must have listened to my 4-part Savor Series with Keshawn Hughes where we literally discuss the POWER OF THE PAUSE in four LinkedIn Lives. There is SO much to learn about savoring and a large part of that is learning to pause so yo can observe, integrate, reflect, and receive. The high-achiever playbook is one we ALL need to put to the side...for good. #highachievers #pauseandreflect #worklifeintegration #worklifebalance

REALTOR - Sellers - I will help you make the most when you sell your home. Buyers - You will love your new home. Investors - Let's build wealth together.
Comparison is only good when it’s used to motivate you. But if you feel that tinge comparing yourself, wondering why you haven’t achieved a certain goal versus one of your peers, stop right there. We are all unique individuals with unique life circumstances. Comparing external goals to your internal value is a recipe for a bad mood. Learn what you can from those who are exceeding in your field and then put it aside. Why would you compare a worker who volunteers 15 hours a week at the homeless shelter to a worker who puts in an extra 15 hours a week at the company? Why would you compare a realtor whose goal is to make as much money as possible to a realtor whose goal is to put 100 families into their first home ever? Why would you compare a person that may be an extrovert and performs well on stage to a highly effective introverted team leader whose team is performing with the best results and culture scores? It’s all about what you really value. Do you value the external? Does your manager value the external? That comes back to the culture within your unit. I learned my life lesson. Valuing souls that are walking in the light and doing good in their life matters more than job titles. The package is not always an indicator of what’s inside the heart. Judge yourself, by what’s in your heart not through comparisons to others packages.

I used to get caught up in getting it all done. There was always more to do and I thought if I could just work harder or work smarter, I would feel better. I would feel accomplished. But I just never got there. What I didn't realize, was that it would never be done. Celebrating was something I only did for the huge gains which did not happen very often. So I didn't cultivate those feelings of joy. I learned over time that celebrating your wins more frequently brought more joy to my life. So celebrate more often. You did great this week. Give yourself a pat on the back and find a way you can celebrate today. 🎉 🥂 Do something that brings you joy. 🔵 Have a picnic. You can do this at a park, at the beach, in your own yard, or even your own living room. 🔵 Cook a special meal. Doing this with friends or your kids can be fun. 🔵 Garden. Being outside, close to nature, and having something beautiful to look at when you are done can be a very joyful activity. 🔵 Explore your neighborhood. Just wander. You never know what treasures you will find. 🔵 Or just have a dance party. It's important to celebrate. It's important to cultivate those good feelings as much as you can. You are important! So, make it your purpose today to celebrate you.

Helping female leaders in professional services find fulfilment and happiness at work | Author The Career Confidence Toolkit | Career and Executive Coach | Podcast Host | "Infectiously driven and straightforward"
When was the last time you took the time to celebrate? I don't mean the end of the project team meal or the lessons learned debrief. I mean really celebrate who you are and who you have become. You are not the person you were 5 years ago, 12 months ago or even 6 weeks ago. You will have learned new skills, developed new perspectives and gained either wider or deeper experience. Rather than rush on to the next thing, busy, busy, busy, take some time to reflect not just on what you have done but who you have become as a result. Doing this allows us to gather evidence of what we are capable of and this evidence provides fuel to the fire of your confidence. I am celebrating three decisions that I have made in the last week about where I choose to direct my time, energy and attention. Why do good things always seem to come in threes? A few years ago, I would have encountered the same situations and reacted very differently. I would have felt it was my responsibility to 'fix' things. I would have thrown myself into the task, even if I didn't necessarily have the time and it wasn't what was best for me. Today, I can appreciate that's not my job. I'm not the same person I was and neither are you! Take some time to appreciate what you have learned and how you have grown.
