Primary Responsibilities • Ensure timely and accurate completion of established accounting procedures by preparing journal entries, entering transactions into accounting software and identifying and correcting any out-of-balance conditions •Prepare payment requests and distribute to accounts payable for processing •Support cash management procedures by appropriately allocating incoming cash, monitoring multiple accounting systems and maintaining accurate documentation •Align individual performance with regulatory and corporate requirements by communicating outstanding items and identifying, understanding and implementing regulatory changes to accounting principles to ensure compliance with internal and external audit findings •Maintain consistency with month and year end closing processes and procedures by reconciling assigned ledger accounts monthly and/or quarterly, and reviewing, investigating and documenting all reconciliations •Review and analyze accounting issues, communicate feedback to team members, share knowledge, review journal entries, resolve questions and provide recommendations to support achievement of business objectives •Assist junior level team members by addressing questions, reviewing billing information and maintaining consistency and close collaboration with the senior leadership team •Collaborate with management to resolve complex billing issues and/or conflicts that may prevent payment of premiums •Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating cultural expectations and influencing others to reward performance and value can do" people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and fun Required Education • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience Required Experience • 2 years relevant experience Preferred Competencies/Skills • Work independently with little supervision or direction •Implement reports to provide access to critical system information •Complete tasks by taking decisive or quick action •Take responsibility and willing to make decisions •Work with people at different levels within the organization to accomplish a common goal •Quickly learn, understand, and take action •Show drive and initiative •Be a willing, effective, and efficient learner •Motivational, ins

It's not wise to make money... Let me clear that up: It's not wise to make money and have no idea if you're leaking money from the bottom of your business. You must get your financials in order! Financial oversight should be consistent to catch AND stop the leaks. If you choose to do it yourself, there's a free accounting software called Wave. It does include a few reports but not very robust. The other option is to hire a Bookkeeper. WARNING ⚠️ - thanks to the internet - most Bookkeepers today are glorified data entry clerks. They have no concept of double entry accounting or its fundamentals. Also keep in mind, as your business and revenue grow, just having a Bookkeeper will not be sufficient. Accountants are necessary however, the majority focus on historical data, from an external perspective to complete required forms. They typically don't focus on the internal matters that drive your business day to day. With our CFO services, we work with you through internal 'right now' matters.
