There’s good news for #shippers this week, thanks to decreasing #fuelprices. Dry van rates on the U.S. spot market also received a much-needed boost while #reefer rates fell. All told, Truckstop reports the worst Market Demand Index on the U.S. spot market since May 2020. Freightwaves is reporting that since November active truckload operating authorities dropped by 9K and 92% of authorities are carriers with fewer than 20 trucks. At KDL we've heard of tough times first hand with one carrier telling us that they didn't have money to repair one of their trucks so they were parking it.
