WSJ piece by Dalvin Brown is my highlight for this week's "Read the News" which looks at the cross section of tech, economics, politics, and PR/media relations. All four are in this piece with highlights of the tech companies making it easier to lend funds to friends and family along with the question of how regulation and taxes come into play. Way to go Dalvin Brown! #readthenews

This week there will be two new publications about degrowth and strategy. Here the first, by Richard Bärnthaler. This publication rightly points out at the need for degrowth to become more 'incisive' politically. This means to not always look for broad consent, and to think in terms of state rules of coercion (limits, caps, taxation, obligations etc.). Next one will be from me, on the same theme.....:P #postgrowthcities #degrowth https://lnkd.in/dMaQ6QJG

The White House OMB is proposing to sidestep one of the most foundational concepts in economics: opportunity cost. A change in bureaucratic procedure under an update to "Circular A-4" regulatory analysis guidelines will make regulation look a lot cheaper than it really is. This is contrary to rigorous economic thinking. Yet, even some economists from elite institutions support it. Why? Because they have forgotten one of the core tenets of their profession. Dive deeper in my latest op-ed for the Wall Street Journal. #economics #regulation #opportunitycost https://lnkd.in/ea3mfQVK
