Did you know that the environment plays a significant role in shaping behavior in children undergoing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)? The environment surrounding a child can greatly impact their behavior. The physical environment, social interactions, daily routines, and reinforcement all play a part. 🌟 ABA therapy focuses on understanding and modifying behavior through systematic analysis. By considering the impact of environmental factors, ABA practitioners can tailor interventions to maximize positive outcomes for children. 🔍 Practical Tips for Parents and Caregivers 🔍 1️⃣ Create a supportive environment: Design a space that promotes positive behavior and minimizes distractions. 2️⃣ Establish clear expectations: Consistency and predictability help children understand what is expected of them. 3️⃣ Use visual aids: Visual schedules, charts, and reminders can help children follow routines and reduce anxiety. 4️⃣ Positive reinforcement: Acknowledge and reward desired behaviors consistently. 5️⃣ Collaborate with professionals: Work closely with your ABA team to develop strategies tailored to your child’s needs. 🌈 Let’s embrace the power of applied behavior analysis and environmental awareness to empower children on their developmental journey! 🌟✨ #BehaviorAnalysis #EnvironmentalInfluences #ABAtherapy #ChildDevelopment #SupportiveEnvironment #RBT #ABAparents

It was truly a privilege to deliver the AET's Schools Good Autism Practice at one of Telford's secondary schools this afternoon. Sharing the voices and lived experiences of the Autistic Young Experts is undoubtedly one of the most powerful elements of this professional development module. When I deliver this session I like to stop and wonder together about what resonates for the staff team when they read through these beautiful eight 'inclusion promises', devised by the Autistic Young Experts panel. Invariably, staff comment that these are just what anyone would want for all their students. Agree. Of course we would. The difference is that, historically, this has *not* been the lived experience of education for so many autistic learners. It has not been their experience. How sobering is that? May this inspire better outcomes for our autistic learners, and for all. #justgoodpractice #DifferenceNotDeficit #ExpertByExperience #TelfordandWrekin #GoodAutismPractice #EdPsych #AET

How does race impact C&A and the clients we serve? In this blog post, C&A doctoral intern Chris Alpert examines understanding race in society and therapy. This post explores this topic through a movie/documentary that followed 12 high school teens through a series of workshops that focused on understanding race and racism from both an individual and systemic level. In part one of this two-part series, Alpert views this through the lens of therapists and how he will approach working with his clients. An inspiring, thought-provoking piece - #therapists #counselors
