You have to choose I bet your organization is guilty of this: Trying to make everything a top priority. “But it’s all critical” you say. Sorry, it just doesn’t work that way. I’m sure you’ve heard the adage—when everything is #1, nothing is. Balancing multiple critical projects seems like the way to get ahead. But it almost always results in everything moving slower. It’s why effective prioritization is so important. Instead of spreading your resources thin, focus on what truly matters. Remember, clear priorities lead to clear outcomes. Choose wisely. #productmanagement #prioritization #cameo
Yes 👍 That’s the power of stack ranking - there can be only one #1.
The biggest impact on developer productivity is too much work in progress. It is remarkable to me that leaders can't see how foolish this behavior is,
absolutely spot on Cameo Doran Whenever I hear my clients saying “priorities”, I say let’s have difficult converation here. You can only have one.
Looks like a marketing malpractice meeting pushing tactics.
Love it lol 😆
When I drive, they both get there at the same time.
Haha! Gives new meaning to the phrase, "Trainwreck" You know companies hate being forced to choose, Cameo Doran

2wTrue! And then complicate that with a multidimensional matrix organization with competing #1 priorities. I frequently see this with clients I work with. It takes discipline to define boundaries to bring clarity to ambiguious things. Also there are always conflicts between local priorities versus regional or global initiatives. This is where organization guiding principles help guide leaders to make those prioritization decisions. Sometimes leaders haven’t been provided with their framework and scope for their decision making authority. Great post, there are so many layers to unpack with this.
