True! And then complicate that with a multidimensional matrix organization with competing #1 priorities. I frequently see this with clients I work with. It takes discipline to define boundaries to bring clarity to ambiguious things. Also there are always conflicts between local priorities versus regional or global initiatives. This is where organization guiding principles help guide leaders to make those prioritization decisions. Sometimes leaders haven’t been provided with their framework and scope for their decision making authority. Great post, there are so many layers to unpack with this.
