𝑷𝑹𝑶𝑱𝑬𝑪𝑻 𝑴𝑨𝑵𝑨𝑮𝑬𝑴𝑬𝑵𝑻. What is the remedy to conflicting managerial/roles interests ? Picture this ... I have an ongoing construction project - as the contractor ,I have assigned supervisory roles to guide and lead the team of skilled workers. I have also appointed an overall site agent to oversee that the construction project complies with everything that's on paper. The site agent and the supervisor are engaged in a duel. The supervisor coordinates the workforce while the site agent allocated the roles based on priority and time schedule. This means that the supervisor is directly involved in the day to day running of the site activities. The site agent is frustrated- none of the instructions that I have given to them gets applied on site. The site supervisor bulldozes their way into every decision -including having redundant workers report to site while the daily task manager indicates less daily activities. The workmanship is wanting despite the supervisor being incharge-he has my trust - and hears none of it from my site agent. My site agent is frustrated and about to quit. I tell them no -learn how to work with that team. While at it,the project is experiencing delays, overhead costs and losing in terms of the workmanship applied. I have not considered hiring a project manager because I feel with the supervisor and the site agent -I am good to go. What is missing in my project catalogue? What woul you advise that I do to get the project in the right shape? Hire a project manager? Sack the entire team and bring a new team to work with my already frustrated site agent? Sack the site agent and retain the larger team to allow the project progress consistently with the same team? Sit the teams down? Specify their roles and establish areas of dependence? #Projectmanagement. #projectcommunication. #projectteams
