CEO of 3PL Systems, Inc. | Girl Dad | Developer | Co-Host of 3PL Live Sessions | Creating Automated Transportation Software for Unlimited Growth
Last week, Michael Sternberg, Sid Kato, and I traveled to Louisville, Kentucky, to attend Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS). The event was larger than any other industry event I've attended, and I'd like to share a few key takeaways. 1. Carriers view Brokers in a very negative light. This is something that needs to be addressed. Neither business exists without the other, so instead of working against one another, we need to find a path forward to work beside one another that benefits all parties in a positive light. 2. The presence of numerous families at MATS underscored the familial nature of the trucking industry. During MATS, an idea popped into my head that would actually consider where a trucker lives and recommend lanes that keep him or her closer to home while continuing to stay profitable. Most of us take for granted how good we have it when we get to go home each night to our families after work. 3. Despite not directly serving the asset community, our participation at MATS proved invaluable. It highlighted the importance of ongoing collaboration with brokers, carriers, and shippers to enhance the shipping lifecycle. Going forward, we plan on attending other supply chain events that give us a better viewpoint from all angles of our industry so that we can better serve our users and their customers. Now, we are changing our focus to TIA. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in April! #3plsystems #brokerware #carriers #supplychain #mats #partners #customers

A client asked me today, "What made this possible?" I'll simplify my long-winded response in one word...People. Not just the people within this organization, but the people we service, the people we partner with, the people we form relationships with both client side and carrier side. In a down market, in a "less than ideal" economy, Beemac continues to put its people first, which in my book, is the ONLY way business should be done.
Sr. VP of Talent & Culture at Beemac Logistics - Building a "People First" Culture while Attracting High Performance Sales Professionals!
Last week I was honored to speak on behalf of the entire Beemac Logistics family at the Pittsburgh Business Times "Fast 50" awards ceremony. I meant it when I said that the blessings we share are only possible from the dedication and hard work of our "three C's"... our Customers, Carriers and our Community. We finished #5 this year and hope to grow bigger and better next year. A massive THANK YOU to the over 230 women and men who are part of our Swarm and who make accomplishments like this possible!!! #fast50 A special thank you to Chris Maas who creates amazing video production! #jointheswarm

Please meet our Driver of the Month for March – Mr. Patrick Ferguson ⭐ Mr. Patrick has been with DMN since March of 2018. You might recognize him from a picture in our office – not only was he nominated Driver of the Year for 2019, but also for 2022. The list of Mr. Patrick's achievements is long: 5 DOT reports without a single violation, 500,000 safe miles achievement, 3 Top Driver of the Year awards, 3 Driver of the Month awards, and 27 Top Driver of the Month awards. These achievements are complimentary additions and a result of what hard work and dedication can bring. Simply put - he is our awesome representation of what this company is all about - honesty, dedication, professionalism, and safety. Mr. Patrick is from North Carolina, but now lives in Texas. He's a father of three beautiful daughters. He started in a construction business but felt as if it wasn't his true calling or enough of a challenge. So, Mr. Ferguson followed the steps of his family's trucking tradition – both, the grandma and grandpa of his daughters, were long time truckers. After gaining enough experience to qualify for a driving position in DMN, he flew over here from Texas and the rest is history. "Why DMN? Because this is family. Simple. Not work, not duty, not obligation. Family. Since the beginning." -Patrick- #dmntransport #dmnlogistics #dmntrucking #cargo #freight #logistics #trucking #transport #transportation #driverofthemonth #topdriver

So blessed and thankful to be nominated as FedEx Ground (ELOU 400) Package Handler of the Month!!! Being a Yard Switcher my job mostly consist of moving trailers to and from doors, so it's great to be seen/acknowledged for my hard work. When congratulated and asked by my fellow peers and management how I do it (positive attitude, attendance, detail-oriented, etc) I simple said, "Everyday, I keep the same energy [level] regardless of how I feel, think, or whatever the day brings." To further elaborate I don't have a military background, nor influence, but I'll share a phrase that those in the armed forces share and follow that I personally have engraved into my mindset, and that is, "EXECUTE, EXECUTE, EXECUTE!!!" Everyday, I try to EXECUTE three things: 1.) EXECUTE the task at hand and follow it through til completion. 2.) EXECUTE a strategy/plan for the next move, day, or task. 3.) EXECUTE a follow-up after the task is completed to ensure it's done correctly and efficiently. I try to follow it to the "T" both at work and my personal life. So far it's served me well. Again I want to thanks all of those who selected me a Package Handler of the Month. It means alot and I truly appreciate it.

If you're not paying attention, you're missing out something big happening right now in the container haulage and chassis space. There are several key aspects of this discussion that warrant highlighting. From my understanding, this ruling does not necessarily imply a mandate for grey pools, despite claims I've frequently encountered. I'm eager to delve deeper into why some argue that this ruling compels the use of grey pools and how such assertions can be justified. From my interpretation, the ruling simply prohibits Ocean Carriers from withdrawing from pools in areas where multiple carriers operate, rather than restricting the launch of proprietary pools in specific regions. What are your thoughts on this?
So this is a pretty big deal… Federal Maritime Commission has upheld the findings of the ALJ in the “Chassis Choice” lawsuit.. While the #oceancarriers like to claim they have been out of the #chassis business, fact of the matter is that lately, they have not only been IN the chassis business, but have basically been colluding to exert total control on what type of #chassis a #drayage operator can use in many #MerchantHaulage arrangements. Just as the Harbor Trucking Association “Chassis Box Rules” White Paper had highlighted last year - requiring a #drayage carrier to use a #chassis of a certain flavor on #MerchantHaulage is the epitome of control. Not anymore! (Well at least in Chicago, Los Angeles/Long Beach, Memphis and Savannah - for now) Kudos to the American Trucking Associations for sticking it out through the fight. Of course, while this saga is likely not over, what is over (effectively immediately) is that #oceancarriers can no longer require the use of a specific #chassis in #MerchantHaulage arrangements. Seems pretty cut and dry. Any thoughts on this historic ruling from my fellow “Container Aficionados” ? Definitely looking forward to some coverage on this from Ari Ashe at S&P Global and the Journal of Commerce as well as our friends at Transport Topics, the The Wall Street Journal and many others. https://lnkd.in/g8Pa99Un

This is terrible; my heart and sympathy go out to those who lose a job like this. The teeter-totter of carriers being profitable and shippers being profitable must be balanced. It leads to customers' freight being abandoned, drivers being stranded, and people being abruptly jobless. Carriers are out there hauling freight for a loss right now, and it’s criminal. At the same time, prices increase for almost everything in the market. The only thing going down is rates for carriers. #saynotocheapfreight #supportyourlocalcarrier #trucking
2000 people out of work suddenly? 500 Drivers? 732 Trucks? 19 terminals closed? Wow! https://lnkd.in/eDAp2h5s
