As a 10+ year member of the US-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), we were pleased to participate in Ukrainian Ambassador Markarova's meeting with the USUBC to discuss the current situation in Ukraine, critical priorities that US industry can support, and future requirements. This event was a testament to the impact made by the late Morgan Williams, the Founder and Chairman of the USBC, who was honored at the event for his unparalleled contribution to US-Ukraine relations.
🇺🇦🇺🇸 The U.S.-Ukraine Business Council hosted a significant Business Leaders Meeting at Ukraine House in Washington, D.C., on June 18. This important event brought together Oksana Markarova, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, and representatives from 50 leading defense, energy, and agriculture companies. Eric Luhmann, Director of Global Business Development at Amsted Rail Company and Chairman of the USUBC Executive Committee, expertly moderated the meeting. Business leaders expressed strong interest in Ukraine's current situation and discussed ways to support both military efforts and economic growth for Ukraine's rebuild. During the engaging discussions, Ambassador Markarova provided essential updates on the situation in Ukraine, including the devastating attacks on civilian infrastructure, the urgent need to enhance air defense systems to protect power plants, and the critical demining efforts required for agricultural development. She also highlighted significant recent achievements crucial for Ukraine's recovery and the path to victory. 🕯 During the event, Morgan Williams, President and CEO of USUBC, was honored for his unwavering dedication to strengthening the Ukraine-US business relationship.
