St Leonards v Parramatta: The Battle to Become the BTR Capital of Sydney
Another prime St Leonards site is awaiting feedback from the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for 250 + build-to-rent housing units.
Envisioned to rise above 40 storeys, the plans propose a sophisticated mix of BTR units, alongside curated commercial and retail spaces.
The inclusion of key worker housing in the plans amplifies the project's commitment to social equity, ensuring that essential service providers have access to quality, affordable housing within the community they serve.
To facilitate the project, amendments to the Lane Cove LEP are being sought concurrently to change the land use zone and increase the building height to 155 metres.
This BTR project follows a recent 60 + storey BTR project lodged with the same authority in Parramatta.

Today, Charter Hall Group (CHC) announces its FY24 Half Year Results. During the period, we continued the ongoing curation of the portfolios we manage; developing new assets, modernising prime located assets that meet the needs of today’s tenants, and selectively divesting older, non-core assets to enhance returns.
We continue to use our cross-sector relationships and the scale of our portfolio to create development opportunities for both tenants and investors. Development completions totalled $3 billion in the last 12 months, and today, we’re pleased to announce the commencement of construction for Chifley South Tower to create Australia’s premier $3.8 billion precinct.

Great result for Speller Metcalfe as Annabelle Ingram told us last week of their recent win:
"We are currently on site constructing a new multi-million-pound sports facility for a new client which we bid for as a result of a Glenigan search. The client on the scheme had not previously heard of us, yet we now have a successful relationship with them."
Thanks, Annabelle, for the fabulous feedback; we're delighted that Glenigan works so well for you!

Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Minister for Housing Infrastructure, Minister for Planning.
I enjoyed being back in a precinct I used to represent in the Federal Parliament for the announcement of a $200 million redevelopment of the Salisbury City Centre.
This is a standout project to be delivered by a partnership between the City of Salisbury and Buildtec / Catcorp consortium.
From 2026, the development is scheduled to deliver more than 200 diverse housing options in close proximity to shops, hospitality, employment options and public transport, including the Salisbury Train Station.
A commercial development that includes a yet-to-be named large retailer is among commercial and residential projects transforming Air Park in northwest Lincoln.
