Every UAE National Day, I'm reminded of an extraordinary journey. As a non-Emirati, I'm continually fascinated by how a visionary leader transformed a desert into a global powerhouse. Sheikh Zayed's commitment to human development echoes in every corner of the UAE. His emphasis on education and healthcare as foundational pillars for a nation's growth has been a source of personal inspiration. The way he empowered women and youth is a blueprint for progressive leadership. Sustainability was more than a policy for Sheikh Zayed; it was a principle. From establishing wildlife reserves to promoting sustainable agriculture, his foresight created a greener, more sustainable UAE. This commitment to environmental stewardship has lessons for us all. His wisdom in balancing modernity with tradition crafted a unique narrative for the UAE. Sheikh Zayed's ability to preserve cultural identity while embracing global influences is a testament to his visionary leadership. What strikes me most is Sheikh Zayed's respect for all. ‏The UAE's active contribution to international efforts is aimed at achieving a better future for communities and humanity worldwide, HE Dr Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, said at the G20 Labour and Employment Ministers’ Meeting held in India from July 20-21. ‏He added that this “commitment revolves around creating employment opportunities and empowering human resources in a sustainable development cycle.” #UAE #MoHRE #G20

The UAE government wanted to ensure that the Emirati population is not isolated from the private sector and that private companies should not depend solely on foreign talent. Therefore, the government initiated and enforced the Emiratisation policy to ensure the inclusion of the local population in businesses and the economy. They have introduced numerous initiatives, one of the most crucial methods was NAFIS, designed to bridge the gap in requirements, needs, and expectations between Emirati professionals and private sector enterprises. There are various ways in which Emiratisation has uplifted the nation’s cultural and social sovereignty and has maximized its global recognition. Some of the many ways in which Emiratisation has done so are: 1. Cultural Preservation 2. Language Preservation 3. Self-reliance 4. Human Capital Development 5. Empowering Future Generations 6. Political Security  7. National Pride 8. Economic Stability 9. Social Cohesion Emiratisation has not only helped Emiratis strengthen their social standing in the country but has also had various benefits for companies in the private sector. Emiratisation aims to create a win-win situation for both private employers and employees. Some of Emiratisation’s many benefits to the private sector include: 1. Access to Local Talent 2. Over the past decade, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has witnessed a remarkable rise in female labor force participation, to around 36% last year. At the same time, female unemployment dropped significantly. But there’s more work to be done to enable this talent pool to access the opportunities ahead. The event was a vibrant showcase of progress and potential in human capital development, particularly in how it intersects with the advancements in technology and AI. What struck me the most is the nuanced approach Saudi Arabia is taking in this journey. The investments in human capital are not a one-size-fits-all solution; they are as diverse and dynamic as the Kingdom's vast demographics and landscapes. This localized, yet globally-minded strategy is pivotal for genuine, impactful development. 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔: 🏙 The city is gorgeous, that's just a fact everyone knows! 👩🏻 A standout observation: Saudi women are leading. Their caliber, empowerment, and vision are formidable. Mark my words, they will be at the forefront of major regional advancements in the coming years. 🏛️ The Saudi government's action-oriented approach is another key takeaway. There's a palpable sense of momentum and purpose in their policies and initiatives, driving substantial change on the ground. 💳 And on a practical note, I didn't use cash once! Saudi Arabia could very well be the easiest country for financial transactions – a small, yet telling sign of their rapid modernization and embrace of digital solutions. As we look towards a future where human capital and technology increasingly intertwine, my experience in Riyadh has left me optimistic and inspired. Pakistan-Saudi Arabia have a proud history of cordial brotherhood. Since day one, both countries have stood shoulder to shoulder. The relationship has strengthened with time. However, to benefit from Vision 2030’s opportunities, Pakistan must comprehend the new dynamics . Saudi Arabia is on a transformational drive, and a new generation of leadership is leading the transformation. Economic rationales and regional and global aspirations influence the new leadership’s decisions. Thus, Pakistan has to be realistic, follow economic rationale, and develop a wise, smart, and multipronged policy. Pakistan should not overemphasise the historical relationship. The policy must be free of rhetoric and focus on real-time situations. If Pakistan can devise a reality-based policy, then it will be able to benefit from numerous opportunities. First, Saudi Arabia will need labour, especially in the services sector. Being home to a youth bulge, it is an excellent opportunity for Pakistan to exploit the situation in its favour. Owing to the historical relationship and the presence of millions of Pakistani diaspora, Pakistan will be better positioned to capture maximum jobs. If Pakistan could exploit the situation in its favour, it would help on two fronts. First, it will assist Pakistan in accommodating youth by finding and engaging them in decent jobs. Second, it will be a good source of foreign earnings, which is badly required. However, Pakistan has to understand that old strategies and policies will not work. In the past, Saudi Arabia accommodated unskilled labour, but the situation has changed. After Vision 2030, the Saudi economy is diversifying and moving towards more sophisticated areas. KSA is moving towards digitalisation and strengthening the services sector. For that purpose, a qualified and skilled labour force is required. For example, in the tourism sector, people from across the world will be visiting KSA, and to deal with them, KSA needs quality labour. An interesting study by #Harvard Business that highlights a set of major transformation features that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing in light of the ambitious #2030, which includes #digital_transformation, economic diversification, women enabling, #governance in both public and private sector, enhancement of #industrial_growth, improvement in #Quality, activation of #sport and #entertainment sectors, and other reforms that Saudi Arabia is going through in our current time.
