On the heels of Military Appreciation Month, I joined PECO's Exelon Militaries Actively Connected (EMAC) Employee Resource Group for Team Foster's Ruff Ride 24-Hour Spin Relay last weekend. The cycling fundraiser paid tribute to our local military heroes and raised money to help Team Foster provide accredited, life-saving service dogs to injured and disabled veterans.   It was an honor to ‘pedal for a purpose’ alongside the Ruff Riders and spend time with our veteran employees. Their service to our country, and now to our customers and communities, is truly inspirational. Our EMAC ERG helps more than 1,600 veterans across the Exelon companies connect and promote a positive workplace experience. #RuffRidePHL #PECO #TeamFoster #militaryappreciation

It’s #InfrastructureWeek, which highlights the importance of our nation's infrastructure and the projects and policies that keep our communities safe. At PECO, we are constantly investing in our infrastructure by modernizing our systems to support a resilient power grid and the energy transformation. One key component of this is empowering the workforce of tomorrow with the know-how to implement, maintain and enhance this infrastructure.    I recently had the pleasure of attending PECO’s Jr. Infrastructure Academy at Montgomery County Community College, a program designed to prepare junior and senior high school students with the skills they need to obtain a career in the energy industry. I was thrilled to see so many students thinking about their futures and expanding their opportunities. Since the program's inception last year, PECO has provided nearly 200 students with hands-on experiences to help them pursue infrastructure and service career opportunities. I know the future is bright for these students and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for them.

I was honored to speak at the Congreso de Latinos Unidos gala this past weekend, which recognized the organization's 47 years of service in #Philadelphia. A longtime community partner of PECO, Congreso has been a steadfast beacon of empowerment for the Latino community, and I am proud to work alongside such an incredible organization.    Growing up, I learned firsthand that community is one of the most critical elements of success. It takes a network of support to achieve your dreams—and Congreso is helping to provide opportunities for the Latino community in Philadelphia through workforce development, education, health, housing, and parenting programs.   Congratulations on 47 years! I look forward to working together to continue powering our communities and helping our customers see a brighter future.

As part of National Volunteer Month, I was honored to join our dedicated employee volunteers in a heartwarming activity. Standing side by side, we bagged and distributed groceries to families in need at ACCESS Chester Community Center, embodying our commitment to serve not just our customers, but also our communities and partners supporting vulnerable individuals. I am a firm believer that true leadership is when you lead by example and as leaders, we must actively engage in efforts to uplift those around us. Volunteerism is a PECO tradition and an important part of our company culture. This month, hundreds of employees are participating in more than 60 volunteer events throughout the region underscoring our collective dedication to making a positive impact beyond our business operations. I look forward to supporting and empowering our employees in their efforts to give back. Together, we can create meaningful change and inspire others to join us in building stronger and healthier communities. #NationalVolunteerMonth

Today marks my first official day on the job as PECO President and CEO. I’ve spent nearly 40 years in the utility industry and more than 12 with Exelon, but this role – leading an organization that is truly powering the lives of the Greater Philadelphia region, in the same neighborhoods where my wife grew up, where I went to college, and where I’ve raised my children – is incredibly special to me.   Since joining Mike Innocenzo earlier this year to begin our transition, I’ve been in awe of his dedication to our organization, to the region, and to the incredible work that his team has accomplished. I look forward to building on the solid foundation that Mike has built, with two of my core beliefs front and center: - PECO is a service business first, but providing exceptional service to our customers isn’t just about meeting industry standards; it’s about prioritizing and serving our communities to make Philadelphia a better place to live and work; and  - The people who power our organization are our heart and soul. It is my priority to engage, develop, and invest in each of our employees, and to find, hire and keep top-notch talent - with a strong focus on nurturing a culture of safety and empowering the workforce of tomorrow.   It's not lost on me the shoes I’m filling, or the incredible responsibility I have at the helm of one of the Greater Philadelphia region’s top corporate citizens. I can tell you unequivocally that I am up for the challenge and look forward to building a cleaner, brighter future for Philadelphia with the talented PECO team.
