The Decision Gap remains a significant challenge in supply chains, even with robust S&OP/IBP processes in place. At our recent Master Class session during the LogiPharma Conference in Lyon, we discussed strategies to address this crucial issue. We emphasized the pivotal role of the Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE) process and advocated for an organizational focus on End-to-End planning at both the S&OE and operational levels. We believe that adopting an end-to-end planner in a business partner role is key to aligning market needs, commercial priorities, and supply chain capabilities. Our session ignited discussions on introducing this strategic role and utilizing segmentation to enable effective business rules, all aimed at achieving alignment between commercial goals and supply chain operations. Participant feedback underscored the demand for practical solutions, emphasizing the need for seamless integration between strategy and execution in the dynamic pharma industry. Reflecting on last week's panel discussion at #LogiPharma2024, the potential of cell, gene, and personalized medicines to deliver life changing or life saving impact makes it more critical than ever for our supply chains to allow for speed to scale, so that as many patients as possible can receive their treatment. The 2 most pressing calls to action that I learned from the discussion: 1. Industry driven standardization whether it's site temperature storage, IT systems/orchestration platforms, etc. is a must to support the critical mass of new therapies set to commercialize in the months and years to come. 2. Model/Plan your supply chain early - it's the connector of all stakeholders. So CDMOs, CROs, sites, sponsors, logistics providers, and orchestration platforms can only achieve success if the supply chain meets each one of their needs, including accounting for the science behind the therapy. #Logipharma2024 #CGTSUPPLYCHAIN
