I'm rallying support for a cause that's deeply personal and significant - combatting domestic abuse. At Muuto Consulting, we feel passionately about standing up for those who need it most, and now, we're extending that commitment to support survivors of domestic violence through the charity Changing Lives our charity partner.
For over 50 years, Changing Lives has been a beacon of hope, changing lives and providing vital support to those affected by domestic abuse. Annually, they help approximately 14,000 individuals find safety, healing, and a path to empowerment.
I am a member of the "Sole Survivors", alongside Stewart Miller, Victoria Meheust, Madeleine Hobbs. We are one of the four teams participating from Muuto Consulting (fantastically organised by Verity Hart and Catherine S.), and we're determined to make a difference. I might be biased, but I believe we're the best team out there, and we're not afraid to show it! We have committed ourselves to the 50K Your Way campaign. We're going to be walking, running, cycling, rowing, swimming, paddling, skating and skipping (potentially staggering) 50 kilometres throughout May.
Some of us are choosing to aim for 1.6km (1 mile) a day
Some may opt for 12km each weekend
Or, as with Victoria Meheust, she's going for gold and aiming to complete all 50km in one weekend....over and over again!
Here's a sneaky twist: I'm not exactly the most prolific LinkedIn user, but for those who have been sliding into my DMs wanting to talk about the organisations you represent, you'll have a much better chance of catching my eye by making a donation to this cause! It's a win-win - you get my attention, and together, we support survivors of domestic abuse.
Did you know that people who have experienced domestic abuse are twice as likely to experience depression? Shockingly, 40% of homeless women state domestic abuse as a contributing factor to their situation. These statistics underscore the urgent need for action and support.
Here's how your donation can directly impact lives:
£50 raised: Could pay for an essential welcome pack to help someone moving into their new home after escaping domestic abuse.
£150 raised: Could pay for two nights’ emergency accommodation and meals for a family fleeing domestic violence.
£250 raised: Could pay for trauma-informed counselling sessions with Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVA) who provide specialist intensive support.
I invite you to stand with us in this crucial cause. Donating here https://lnkd.in/d7siNsBd, spreading awareness, your support can make a world of difference.
Let's be the change we wish to see in the world. Let's create a safer, more compassionate community for everyone.
