Well, let's crack it.😎 IP (Ingress Protection) is the number that specifies the ability of the luminarie to withstand different external conditions.It consists of 3 numbers represented with IP(XYZ) but most times you will see just IP(XY). X represents protection against dust, and it ranges from 0 to 6. Y represents protection against water, and it ranges from 0 to 8. while Z represents protection against mechanical vibration, and it ranges from 0 to 10. To understand better, for IP67, the '6' means your luminaire is dust tight while the '7' means your luminaire can survive when dipped in water for certain minutes.
