At Discovery Mood & Anxiety, we are passionate about serving those who need it most. And during the summer season, we know it can be difficult to coordinate already busy schedules and prioritize mental health treatment. That’s why we have added a new summer adolescent intensive outpatient (IOP) track to some of our West Coast locations. Our new summer IOP hours (12-3:30 p.m. and 3:30-7 p.m.) will be offered at the following DMA locations: ✔️ Los Alamitos, https://ow.ly/HvOb50SqlP0 ✔️ Los Angeles, https://ow.ly/64FX50SqlOZ ✔️ Newport Beach, https://ow.ly/yTue50SqlOU ✔️ Portland, https://ow.ly/R2zi50SqlOV ✔️ San Diego, https://ow.ly/m6lz50SqlOW ✔️ Sherman Oaks, https://ow.ly/Z9Sv50SqlP1 ✔️ Temecula, https://ow.ly/ifJq50SqlOY **Our Portland facility will also offer a morning session from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.** #mentalhealthtreatment #prioritizeyourmentalhealth #mentalhealthsupport #dmafacilityspotlight #challengesintoopportunities #accessyourbestlife

I am so honored to have contributed to FINN Partners' #MentalHealthMatters series by interviewing the incredible Laura Erickson-Schroth, M.D., M.A., Chief Medical Officer at The Jed Foundation (JED). We chatted about JED's latest report which investigates the barriers that teens face when considering seeking help. Dr. Erickson-Schroth's biggest takeaway from the research? "Teens want to reach out to adults in their lives, and our job is to create environments where it feels safe to do that." Read the full Q&A here: https://lnkd.in/gpZrirDK

As part of our #MentalHealthMatters series, Laura (Vinci) O'Neill, MBA, Partner, New York Health Media Lead, sat down with Laura Erickson-Schroth, M.D., M.A., Chief Medical Officer at The Jed Foundation (JED), to dig into JED’s recent research investigating the extent to which stigma is a barrier in help-seeking for teens, what other barriers are present and where youth are turning for support. Proven innovator with a goal of improving long term patient health and increasing quality outcomes through an integrated enterprise delivery system.
It was staggering to see that a recent CVS Health study found that 74% of younger adults (aged 18-34) reported experiencing concerns about either their own mental health or the mental health of family and friends, a 12%-point increase since April 2020. This #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth and every month, I am proud to see @CVS Health prioritize helping to end the stigma often associated with seeking mental health care and providing those we serve with resources and support. See how we’re bringing this important work to life: https://lnkd.in/eDf-NcPR #TeamCVS

Research shows that fewer than half of seniors with mental and/or substance use disorders receive treatment. This population can benefit tremendously from medication, counseling, and therapy—yet many older adults don't seek it out because of the stigma attached to the words "mental health." At Brookdale, we believe that senior living communities can be essential in addressing mental health challenges by providing supportive environments, engagement opportunities, and a sense of purpose. Our clinical programs, combined with the right mix of individual, small- and large-group activities curated for each individual, help residents achieve optimal behavioral health outcomes by giving them a sense of purpose and helping forge moments of authentic connection. Our No. 1 priority is our residents' health and well—being—including mental and emotional wellness. We are committed to eliminating the stigma of mental health and helping our residents receive the care and treatment they need. #MentalHealth #BehavioralHealth #SeniorLiving

Many patients with mental health issues and/or SUDs are first identified in primary care settings, hospitals, or emergency rooms. But current referral methods fall short, often leaving patients to navigate complex processes and cold-call therapists without adequate information. Studies show that over 50% of referrals never result in a scheduled appointment, largely due to these navigational difficulties (Smith et al., 2019). Furthermore, a survey by Mental Health America found that 76% of patients found it difficult to find the right mental health professional (MHA, 2020). We need a change. #MentalHealth #ReferralSystems
