Home Medicine Reviews (HMRs) are a valuable accredited pharmacist service for patients and the community and GPs have been able to get this support (at no cost to patient) to improve patient outcomes thanks to government funding. HMRs reduce 👇: - medication errors e.g. duplication due to brand names - medication misadventures e.g. wrong tablet at the wrong time - hospitalisations e.g. due to side effects/overdose/drug interactions - patient confusion e.g. when they start/stop/change medicines - polypharmacy or unnecessary use of medicines HMRs improve ☝: - medication adherence - patient understanding - patient quality of life - communication - and much more. If you want to know more about what a HMR is, find out from this news video: https://lnkd.in/gtEqjtuc And help us sign this petition to save this service!

Providing a safe and secure environment for healthcare workers and their patients is a global concern. This is a must read for all those working in the #nhs, with a lot of parrallels that can usefully be drawn for other employers on the topic of #racism. We need #transformationalchange to take priority over transactional change. This 'Too Hot to Handle?' report brings together key learning from a number of tribunal cases and survey responses from over 1,300 NHS staff to explore how healthcare organisations are best able to respond to allegations of racism and be proactive in discharging their legal duty to prevent discrimination. Huge thanks to Joy Warmington, Roger Kline and all those who contributed to this "...this report is not about pointing fingers; it's about unravelling the mystery behind the cover-up. By talking about this systemic blind spot and how it affects NHS staff, we hope to encourage more open environments where conversations about racism are seen as necessary to systems change, environments where cultivating our personal and shared understanding of racism becomes part of an overall improvement culture. Moreover, we hope that by challenging the belief that racism is something that ‘just needs to be accepted’ we will pave the way for lasting change and true equity within our healthcare system"

I can help you create healthier workplaces where people feel connected and are better able to look after themselves, others and the company. Mental Health | Public Health | Audit and Policy | Training Specialist |
A great and sobering read. Despite the work being done in this area there are so many recognizable issues in this report. The trouble maker fear being one that I hear frequently. While it is mentioned so many times that staff need to stand up and challenge what is seen as wrong it is still the case that this results in being seen as a troublesome and people who do end being treated as different, difficult because addressing issues head on is hard. There are those who running towards equality, I really admire those, they question themselves, their biases and want to do better but the effort sometimes falls short if so many others aren’t willing to supply the work. I don’t claim to have the answers to all this but I do think that there need to be a lot more education and a lot more psychological safety to discuss these topics so that these figures improve. What are your thoughts?
