🚀I love a retro brand ⭐️I chose it initially based on local reviews to fix my laptop. 🧔🏻♀️ But what really sealed the deal, was the chap that worked there. 🤎 Instant trust when he openly looked on eBay seeking parts - showing me what he was purchasing them for. 💳Transparent about his labour costs And I was sold 🚀 I picked up my fixed laptop today and have no doubt this will serve as my ‘go to’ for IT stuff 🙌🏻 😊 They say people buy from people and this saying couldn’t be truer 😊 💡⚡️Moral is, if you are wondering how to attract customers - focus on reviews and customer service #laptoprepair #retrobrand #peoplebuyfrompeople #customerservice #reviews

5 eBay Mistakes Costing You Money Are you an eBay seller feeling like you're leaving money on the table? It might be time to audit your process for these common pitfalls. 1. Neglecting the Power of Pictures Clear, well-lit photos are your best salespeople. Invest in decent lighting and a plain backdrop – even a white sheet will do! 2. Underestimating Shipping Costs Factor inaccurate shipping weights, dimensions, and your preferred carrier costs before listing. Surprises here equal lost profits. 3. Skimping on Descriptions Be detailed! Keywords matter for search, and thorough descriptions build buyer trust. Don't forget to mention any flaws upfront. 4. Lowballing Your Prices Research the market and price fairly. Too low, and you miss out. Too high, and your item won't move. 5. Ignoring Customer Service Fast, polite communication is KEY. Please respond to questions quickly and resolve issues amicably. It builds a reputation that brings buyers back. ⁉️ Which of these mistakes have YOU made? Share your lessons learned below, let's help each other succeed! #ebayseller #ecommerce #onlinesales #reselling #sidehustle

🤯 Are you sitting down? This is wild. My friend Neal Schmidt and I work next to Jane.com's deserted offices. Intrigued, we decided to embark on lunch-break interviews with sellers impacted by the company's sudden downfall.🧐 💰 Utah's Jane.com, a boutique apparel marketplace founded by Megan and Mike McEwan, owes $6M to a group of (primarily female) entrepreneurs. Over the past decade, Jane.com built up a community of 1,000+ marketplace sellers that supplied inventory for limited-time offers (think cute sweaters only available for 72 hours).👗 📈 The math was simple: Jane.com took a 25% cut of everything sold, and 75% would go to the marketplace sellers the day after the items were shipped. But in January of 2023, sellers stopped getting their 75% within one business day; it started taking a couple of weeks. 🤕 In September of 2023, payments became erratic, taking longer than a few weeks and requiring calls to seller support or trying to guess the CFO's email address. 🎅 And then, right before Black Friday, the site was shut down without warning in the middle of the night. We’re hoping to boost awareness of this issue; it doesn’t seem that enough people are talking about it. If fraud took place, it needs to be unearthed. If money is paid out in bankruptcy, let’s push it to go to the women who had their inventory stolen. Many marketplace sellers did most of their business on Jane.com, so they aren’t just out $6M in inventory, but they are taking massive hits on the rest of their holiday sales now that their platform disappeared in the night. Interviewees: Shera Wheeler of Pink Pineapple Clothing Katie Stacey of Copper Lane Boutique https://lnkd.in/gMny6k26 https://lnkd.in/gxassjWx This is where many marketplace sellers (who were almost exclusively doing business on Jane.com) can be found. https://lnkd.in/gEjfaKw6 I'm curious about your thoughts Aram Attar, David Politis, A.J. Rounds, Brendon Beebe, Steve Stacey, MBA, and Shera Wheeler. #janegate

Here's the help you want to dodge eBay returns from scammy buyers! An eBay seller recently messaged me, asking, 'Kathy, do I have to accept returns?' Guess what? The quick answer is no. But let's chat about it! I delved into this topic, and there's an uncomfortable twist – this seller ended up with a return opened for an item that wasn't accurately described. UGH! My brother sells stuff on eBay, and he's really good at it. Like 10𝐤/𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 good. He's great at finding obscure/random items that are worth ~the big bucks~. And the other day, he was telling me a story, while teasing me (as big brothers do). He loves showing me his inventory, and he showed me this Star Trek comic book that he had listed for $400 in his store. He told me it just sold after sitting for 2 months. I asked him: "Did you lower the price at all?" He said: "No! Why would I lower the price? It's not like I'd lower the price to $100 and the casual shopper would be like 'Oh great, now that's something I've been considering! An obscure Star Trek comic!' The average person wouldn't buy it even if I had it listed for $5." He said: "It's not the kind of thing that someone casually buys. Lowering the price won't make a difference, because the 'price buyer' isn't the buyer I'm looking for. My ideal buyer won't buy it unless they WANT it. Unless they're a huge fan. And when that person comes in, it doesn't matter if it's $20 or $400, they're buying it. I just have to wait for the right person. It might take 2 weeks or 5 months, but they'll buy it." I said: "So it sold for $400?" He said: "It sold for $400." #sales #ebaystore #pricing
