I have come to the conclusion that I should be able to add cancer patient/survivor as a job on my resume! Cancer Patient/Survivor 2021-Current Job Description Fast Learner- Had to learn quickly medical terms such as chemotherapy, radiation, taxol, doxorubicin (Adriamycin), lynparaza, triple negative breast cancer and what a nothingham grade 3 is. Calendar Management- managed multiple schedules such as lots of doctors appt, chemotherapy, radiation, work schedules, and dance schedules for kid. Multi tasking- learn how to get chemotherapy while working, not feeling well, volunteering and being a mom. Organization- Learn how to organize all the above while not loosing my mind! 😂 If you are an employer hire a cancer patient/ survivor based just on that! MD Anderson Cancer Center required a $10,000 deposit at my initial #patient registration session, after which I would see an #oncologist & an oncology surgeon. They recommended a CT scan to determine the extent of my non-healing wound, a basal cell carcinoma. The wound had been seen by 6 or more #healthcare professionals in urgent care, a wound clinic, a #pcp , again in #woundcare and MD Anderson. I have #medcare. a second PCP, again in #wound care and MD Anderson. I have #medcare and here in Cyprss TX @harrishealth system financial assistance; #medicaid has denied my three applications. During Now, four months later, after sending my case to Harris Health System, largely due to my selfpay status and the uncertainties in treating the wound/ #cancer, MD Anderson is refusing my requests for refunding the $10,000 less costs associated with _minimal care_ services performed. MD A has referred me to Harris Health's LBJ Hospital for on-going treatment. MD Anderson Cancer Center's avarice has #polluted its #mission and corroded its #values. Fee-for-service is its #lifeblood; that #addiction precludes a #patient centered, #valuebasedhealthcare mindset and subsequent noble, lofty #performance. MD Anderson should dread the rise of #ai. Using AI, we patients will be able to find novel treatments for #cancers, #heartdisease and other #chronicdiseases, alternative #medications (such as fenbendazole for cancer) and options when choosing #healthsystems and #providers. #health #consumers will wield unprecedented decision-making power the likes of which has never before existed.

I had the pleasure of meeting with many of HealthHelp's clients over the summer months. We discussed their top-of-mind items including increased utilization and spend across Oncology, Cardiology and Surgical Services. ALLG welcomes our new Early Career Clinician Researchers for 2024 – Dr Ross Salvaris (Monash Health), Dr Rory Bennett (Te Whatu Ora – Waitemata) and Dr Jacinta Perram (St Vincent's Hospital). We are looking forward to working with these talented early career researchers to progress new research and outcomes for patients with blood cancers. The ALLG’s Early Clinician Researcher Program initiative was created to provide opportunities for younger clinicians to build their experience in clinical trials and research. This includes the opportunity to develop ideas for clinical trials or laboratory-based research, undertake research and network with other health professionals, and to receive mentoring by key ALLG scientific leaders in the conduct of clinical trial research. ALLG's collaborative network and clinical trials offer a unique platform for early career clinicians to contribute to the advancement of blood cancer research, including international trials, that can significantly improve survival rates and quality of life for patients.
