It really is what we say to and about each other, in public and private, that each and every one of us has the power to change. 🔊 Speaking Up for What's Right: The Power of Calling Out Injustice 🔊 Do you know what is a crucial aspect of fostering positive change?? Calling out what's wrong, even when it's uncomfortable. 🗣️ Our voices hold immense power. 🌟 Check out this video below of Adele stopping her show to confront a security guard mistreating an audience member. That's the kind of courage we need to make a difference. 💪🏾 🚫 Injustices thrive in silence. By boldly calling out discrimination, bias, and wrongdoing, we become catalysts for transformation. 👥✨ Each voice that stands up creates a ripple effect, inspiring others to join the cause. 🔹 Don't fear discomfort. Challenging situations that perpetuate inequality demand our attention. When we address them head-on, we pave the way for a fairer, more inclusive world. 🔹 Be the change. Our collective voices hold the power to reshape norms and dismantle systemic issues. Let's seize every opportunity to stand up, be brave, and foster an environment where everyone feels valued and safe. 🔹 Unity in diversity. Embracing our differences is what makes us stronger. By calling out injustice, we reinforce our commitment to building a society where everyone has a rightful place. So, let's take a page from Adele's playbook and be unafraid to speak up against what's wrong.🎤Our words have the potential to spark change, inspire dialogue, and lead us towards a more equitable world. #SpeakUpForChange #DEIChampions #TogetherWeRise #RodVisionInMotion ________________________________________________________________________ Do you like my content and want to see more? 💡 🔔 Ring the bell on my profile Rodney Frank & follow #RodVisionInMotion for my previous posts. https://lnkd.in/gqef5P8Q

2 years ago today I published my album: A Woman With A Soul. It was 02/02/2022. And the date for the release was intentional. There's something about the number 22 that has been following me since I can remember. But let's put the number aside, for it is irrelevant for the purposes of this post. The album marked a turning point in my professional life. Although I had published 2 albums prior to this one over 20 years ago, (notice all those 2's....!) I still had 2 (!) distinct identities that I had a tough time to reconcile in my mind: my corporate one and my artistic one. I struggled to find a balance between them. How could I? They belonged to two separate worlds: one was my "profession", the other was...... what? My "hobby", my "side hustle", my aspiration of "being a star for one day"? No. Music was, is and continues to be an expression of who I am. Just like my profession. The distinction is only in the way these two realities are manifested. I will not show up with a guitar, a leather jacket and start singing in a business context, just like I won't talk about professional development during a concert (....although...you'd be surprised...stranger things have happened) The moment I realised both were an expression of who I was, the division between these two worlds ceased to exist and I started feeling more and more comfortable showing the multiplicity of my being. Since then, I have broken those boundaries and created new spaces where both can co-exist with equal relevance, dignity and professionalism. It is not easy, though, for people don't understand what I do and who I am. My YouTube channel is a great example of it. Some followers are in it for the podcast, others for the music. Different audiences that have a tough time to reconcile what I've struggled to reconcile for over 20 years: how can these two worlds co-exist?! It takes time to change paradigms but it is possible and necessary. And it is my job to do so by going through the motions myself of what it to means to show up with multiple professions while still staying true to who you are. So this album, A Woman with A Soul, launched 2 years ago today, is a more than an artistic endeavour. It is a statement. #theworldofwork #thewow #awomanwithasoul #hereweare #spotify #applemusic #YouTube #amazonmusic @PGCreativeBusinesses https://lnkd.in/d47AcXTj https://lnkd.in/dKZmFYu9

‘History, like music, is not something that happens — it’s something you make.’ Advice from a 100 year old school teacher whose only son helped transform a genre of music. 30 years ago, Rage Against The Machine opened the eyes and minds of a generation with their self-titled album. On its cover, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk in-flames, protesting government religious oppression. Last week one of the most influential / controversial / empowering music groups to have ever walked the planet was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Listen and you'll find their music, lyrics, and ultimately their message pulls open a corner of the curtain to shed light on how ‘the machine’ works. Inspiring audiences to reflect on the politics, propaganda, and powers that shape society and in turn, take action against their injustices. Art has a way of penetrating borders. Music has a way of singing what can’t be said. If you can’t identify with their music or appreciate Tom Morello's guitar, at least take his moms advice. Or listen to his. Notes from his acceptance speech: 1️⃣ Dream big and don’t settle. 2️⃣ Aim for the world you really want — without compromise or apology. 3️⃣ Don’t wait for someone else. They’re not here, but you are. + If you’re an employee, join a union. + If you’re an anarchist, grab a brick. + And if you're a soldier, follow your conscience, not your order. #designforgood #rockandrollhalloffame
