Despite not allowing bookings through online travel agencies in the past, Southwest Airlines flights can now be booked through Chase Travel. You can also include your Southwest Rapid Rewards number in your reservation to earn Rapid Rewards points on your booking 🛩 . I personally think this is a positive development, particularly for Chase customers who don't hold a Sapphire card and benefit from 1:1 point transfers to Southwest. However, Southwest provides a flexible cancellation and rebooking policy for award tickets. If you notice a decrease in fare price, you can receive some of your Rapid Rewards points back. On the other hand, when you book through Chase Travel, you'll have to make your rebooking through Chase, and your refund will be in the form of a Chase Travel credit rather than points. All in all, booking your next Southwest flight through Chase may be worth your consideration if you're certain you'll take the flight and the fare price isn't more expensive than booking with Southwest directly.
