🌎📣 The hydrogen news from July 17 to 23 [the links of all the articles are available in the comment section] Sum up of what happened in the hydrogen world last week: Events 📅 The website Sportscar365.com asked BMW and Peugeot their views on the future #hydrogen category for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This does not mean that the two manufacturers will be participating. However, they remain "open" to the idea. BMW Group made the trip to Goodwood, the famous Festival of Speed in England. It presented its ix5 Hydrogen SUV, as well as an experimental racing car. Projects ⚒ Following the agreement between Stellantis and Hype for 1,000 hydrogen-powered #taxis adapted for PRMs (persons with reduced mobility), we have just learnt that Symbio will be providing its technical expertise. Groupe Qair has announced the signing of a contract with Plug Power for the sale of hydrogen produced by #electrolysis. This is a further step in the development of this emblematic project in the French Occitania region. Investment💰 Bosch is investing in the entire hydrogen chain, from the #fuelcell to the electrolyser, by way of tanks and compression at refuelling stations. The company expects a €5 billion income from 2030 onwards (about $5.6 billion). Retrofit ⚙ British entrepreneur Dale Vince wants to launch Ecojet, the first airline to offer hydrogen-powered flights. But the aircraft will first burn paraffin. Unexpected news🚨 Last Thursday, in a terse press release, Hopium, the young French manufacturer of hydrogen-powered cars, has announced that it has applied to suspend the listing of its shares on the stock exchange. The next day, we learnt that the company had been placed in receivership. The aim of the procedure is to enable the company to continue its activities, pay off its debts and reorganise. Do you want to find out more about the topics above? All the links of our articles are available in the comment section👇 We wish you a great week!

The dialogue on environmental impact is growing as enthusiasts champion innovation. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆, home to cutting-edge technology, is driving progress (and discussion) in energy efficiency and alternative sources.🏎️🌍 Interestingly, 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗛, a hydrogen car racing championship that will debut in 2025, is teaming up with the FIA and the FIA Formula One World Championship to form a joint working group on hydrogen. Figures like Mark Grain, Pat Symonds and Nikolas Tombazis are overseeing progress in hydrogen technology, covering fuel cells, battery systems, infrastructure, transport, charging, storage and security. F1 technical director Pat Symonds emphasizes the commitment to exploring decarbonization pathways, including sustainable fuels, electrification and hydrogen. The FIA World Rallycross Championship's adoption of sustainable combustion engine cars in 2024, alongside electric cars, is an example of this and signals a laudable shift towards sustainability in motorsport. 🌿 While celebrating the progress made, there remain some concerns: the carbon footprint of events, the impact of high-performance vehicles and the resource intensity of the industry. The action measures taken include carbon offsetting, investment in ecological initiatives and the exploration of alternative energies with a circular economy approach. Finding a balance between intensity and sustainability therefore remains an ongoing quest, and the motorsport industry still faces challenges in heading towards a completely green checkered flag 🌿🏁 Read more: Extreme H, FIA and Formula 1 to create joint technical working group on hydrogen - News - Extreme E - The Electric Odyssey (extreme-e.com) #Motorsport #SustainabilityDrive #GreenRacing #HydrogenTechnology #SustainableRacing #MotorsportInnovation #TheFrenchyUmpire

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗛𝗬𝗗𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗘𝗡 𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗦 𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗔𝗧 𝗛𝗬𝗩𝗢𝗟𝗨𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 Article written by Laurent Meillaud and translated by Logan King As an alternative to the fuel cell combined with an electric motor, the hydrogen combustion engine is an emerging solution. Several players are presenting it at Hyvolution Paris. 👉 French manufacturers will be exhibiting fuel cell vehicles at the show, both HYVIA and Stellantis. However, this does not prevent Renault from thinking about this concept (via its Alpine brand, which presented the superb Alpenglow concept in this same hall 6 during the last Paris Motor Show). And above all, the brand has concluded an agreement with the Punch Powertrain group regarding the study of a hydrogen engine. The fact is that Punch Torino is present at Hyvolution with an H2 engine, rather intended for heavy vehicles given its capacity (6.6 L V8). It was developped by its subsidiary Hydrocells. 👉 The hydrogen engine can also be seen at FEV Group. The German engineering group is a partner of Oreca in a project that consists in developing an engine for the Dakar. But it is a bus engine weighing almost a ton that is on display and is intended for #retrofitting. 👉 Another player is also in the running. The Green Corp Konnection (GCK) , which competes and is preparing an H2 buggy for the Dakar, now has expertise in the hydrogen engine since the takeover of Solution F. There is no mention of this at the show, but it is potentially a solution for retrofitting. 👉 Alongside these manufacturers, start-ups are also hoping to make their mark. For example, the company EHP2 is presenting a small hydrogen engine on its booth. The company, created in 2018, employs people “who have extensive experience in the design, development and production of multi-sector powertrains.” It operates mainly in niche markets in the aerospace, defence, prototype car, motor racing, marine and off-road sectors. 👉 On the Brittany pavilion, the start-up EHM - Efficient Hydrogen Motors , created in May 2022, aims to design, manufacture and market a hydrogen combustion engine dedicated to the retrofit of heavy vehicles over 5 years old. Its engine is not yet visible, but it claims a partnership with the Alliance Automotive Group – a European leader in spare parts – for a #retrofit offer in partner garages. _________________________________________________________________ The picture shows Gaël Labat one of the key EHM - Efficient Hydrogen Motors developper observing Punch Powertrain engine.
