Happy Pride Month from all of us at The West Group Limited! 🌈 At The West Group, we believe in fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued and included. This Pride Month, we’re especially proud to celebrate the diverse community that makes up our incredible team. During our recent ‘All Hands’ meeting, we took the opportunity to start the process of re-defining our company values. 💬 When was the last time you hosted a conversation about inclusivity in your workplace? We held a conversation about inclusion as part of National Inclusion Week at the end of September to champion this year's theme of #TakeActionMakeImpact and build on our inclusive culture. Held over lunchtime in one of our offices, 12 members of staff across a range of roles and seniority, with a breadth of lived experiences, came together to discuss what inclusion at GatenbySanderson means, and what more can be done. We all found the conversation incredibly insightful, encouraging and important, and want to support our clients and partners in doing this in their organisations by sharing how to host a conversation about inclusivity at work, with examples of: ⭐ How to set it up and ensure a diverse range of perspectives are in the room ⭐ Questions you can ask to prompt discussion ⭐ How to keep the conversation flowing and ensure everyone gets involved ⭐ What to do as a follow-up to continue the progress of developing an inclusive culture 🔊 You can also listen to anonymised audio clips from the conversation, to get an understanding of what people shared and how it felt to participate* Taking the time to host these kinds of conversations has a big impact, as it takes inclusion from just a diversity topic taught to your teams, to a living breathing discussion and opportunity to experience it from lots of different people's perspectives. The stories shared make it real, and relatable, and is where the learning really lies.
