🤔 Unpiggable? Not quite… 🤔 We recently worked with APA Group Networks on a pipeline that will boost supply to the gas network in the south eastern suburbs of Victoria. The project involved a DN315 supply main with multiple DN180 offtakes connecting into a new pressure reduction station. The system had been hydrotested, but it needed to be dewatered and brought down to dew point. The pipeline would be very difficult to pig due to the offtake branches and equal tees 🤨 But we found a way. 👊 Within 10 days, we pigged, dried and brought the dew point down to -20 👊 We know pressure, we know pigging, and we love a challenge. #hydrotest #pipeline #pipelinepigging #pipelinepig #pig #hydrostatictesting #unpiggable

“Just float 2”, mainly used in water surface, lake, pond and other areas. It will not occupy cultivated land resources and reduce expropriation costs. Products installed on the water surface, no need site leveling and cable trench laying and other construction, save costs. modular structure, simple assembly, convenient installation, no need large mechanical equipment. Improve energization and environmental protection, the water body has natural cooling function, which can increase the electricity generation by 10%. Cover the surface of water, reduce the evaporation of lake water, and inhibit the growth of algae, which is beneficial to prevent and control of water pollution. 100% recyclable, strong corrosion resistance, safe and reliable, can be used as a feature of scenic spots. High Quality assurance, in the just float project, from manufacture to commission, each link is executed strictly to ensure high quality. The float are manufactured by blow molding process and are transported and installed in advance. Inventory management and quality assessment, the whole process can be traced, we will abide by our promise. #solar #solarenergy #floatingsolar #solarsystem #solarpower #solarsystems

In the second of our FAQ series following last month’s ‘Lunch & Learn’ webinar, we selected this question from the group: Is it significantly cheaper to drill open-loop compared to closed-loop boreholes? Our experts’ response: At a large scale, it can be significantly cheaper, yes. Its simpler design and lower implementation costs contribute to this, but open-loop systems rely on the presence of an aquifer or other sources of groundwater for the ground source heat pump, potentially limiting the sites open-loop systems can be used. And other factors, such as the depth of the aquifer need to be taken into account for open-loop to be considered as an option. By contrast, a closed-loop ground source heat pump doesn’t demand any particular condition, since it’s a self-contained system. For more detail on open-loop and closed-loop systems, we have an in-depth resource available to download for free in the comments - or of course, reach out to our team to discuss your project’s requirements. #Boreholes #RenewableEnergyProject #HeatPumps #NetZero #GSHPs

Do you really need a passive soil gas system for your new build? Chris Heckle, our Director of New Construction, explains that sometimes a passive system is required by regulation. If it's not, installation during the construction process still has several key benefits - including saving on your bottom line if mitigation is required down the road. Protect your building #occupants and your liability peace of mind by staying proactive during new construction with a #soilgas #passivemitigation system installation. Thermal differential protection is particularly critical for large-volume pours.
At White Rock Wind Farm, the weather conditions can be extreme. Windy, of course. And cold. Concrete wind turbine bases need full strength and long-term durability. Curing the concrete in the cold is not ideal for that. So the answer was ... https://bit.ly/3QTjcQ7 #Concrete #Construction #Durability #Cold #Weather #AddingLifeToConcrete
