Unfortunately, there's still plenty of QA Leaders out of work due to redundancies, with plenty of companies seeing it as a quick fire way to save money.
There's definitely been improvements in QA, with plenty of candidates securing new positions, but I'd still say there's a shortage of companies looking to hire at QA management level (in my opinion), than there has been in previous years.
I'm also seeing the knock-on effect that it has on QA engineers that originally reported into a QA leader, who are now reporting into a CTO, Head of Dev etc - who may have slightly different priorities/views on QA than their previous QA manager, so it's leaving some demotivated and lacking the drive they had from their previous manager whose main focus was quality assurance.
The market is still quite far off where it has been previously, but there's definitely been improvements which is nice to see - long may it continue!
