Celebrating Our Exceptional Caregivers! Griffin Health celebrated the upcoming Fourth of July and the June 2024 “I Take It Personally” (ITIP) winners with a patriotic party in the Griffin Hospital Dining Room yesterday. Pictured with Griffin Health Vice President of Accountable Care and General Counsel Todd Liu are, from left to right: Cathleen Kellett, of Community Outreach; Valbona Ndoi, of Environmental Services; and Jessica Schepp, of Surgical Services. Rosemary Brooks, of the Griffin Hospital Emergency Department, was also a June ITIP winner but could not attend the celebration. The ITIP program rewards Griffin caregivers who demonstrate a commitment to Griffin’s Planetree Philosophy, serve as role models for other caregivers, and practice our patient safety and patient-centered care tools in striving to provide an exceptional experience to patients, families, and/or fellow caregivers.

Staff-Led Loving Workflows in Care Delivery 💙 ♦ A Loving Organization - Culture Change ♦ Train the Trainer Facilitator Certification Program for Leaders & Managers ♦ 20 Years Consulting, Training, Speaking in Healthcare
It's rare I watch or listen to a podcast and am inspired. Remembering the word, "inspire" comes from the root, "in spirit", we can say my inspiration has its roots in love, which is exactly what this podcast speaks to: Love as a guiding principle in the leadership, management, and delivery of excellent healthcare. Apurv Gupta, MD, MPH, Stephanie Feals and guest, Erik Anderson of Adventist Health Castle go deep into the practical application of love in creating the excellence in healthcare delivery that wins a National Baldrige Award. But it's so much more than winning this prestigious award. It's about the love that brings together leadership, staff, patients, families and community. Together we're better, yes? The powerful principles that are the foundation of a great organization must now include love. For Adventist Health Castle: Love Matters. For Dr. Gupta and Premier Inc.: A Loving Organization. For 3DHealthcare: Loving Systems. I so love and respect the many kindred spirits who are working so hard to make healthcare better. Having said that, isn't it time, as the song says, to give love a chance. If not now, when? If not us, who? #ALovingOrganization #LoveMatters #3DLovingSystems #3DHealthcare
@erik-anderson-601a8591/, Patient Care Executive at Adventist Health, says from the moment he joined the organization he knew it felt different. He said he felt the sense of Aloha. Treating patients and employees like Ohana - or family - is in their DNA. Erik told us that like with any family, there needs to be trust, transparency, and sometimes even tough love for accountability, which is a two-way street. The team at Adventist Health Castle listens to the community and deeply values that feedback when choosing how to best serve their patients and teams. Their holistic approach includes community-centered events like Christmas tree lightings, speaking to students, and other ways that encourage the community to become a partner in their healthcare. Their commitment to clinical excellence combined with their “Love Matters” campaign lead them to a Baldrige Award win in 2017. To hear more about this remarkable organization, and learn more about how they teach empathy, value vulnerability, and “measure what they treasure”, check out the full interview with Erik: https://lnkd.in/eJe7qwmM Learn more about Adventist Health Castle: https://lnkd.in/e4FzbHVB Topical time codes: 00:43 - Feeling the Aloha 1:51 - Culture within the organization, Ohana 3:55 - Teaching empathy 7:04 - Love Matters campaign and Baldrige Award win 8:30 - How to connect with the community 11:28 - Community engagement 16:15 - Trust, transparency, and tough love 18:52 - Gratitude as part of Love Matters #healthcare #CompassionateCare #communityengagement #particpatorymedicine #aloha #ohana

I’ve been yelling from the rooftops and talking to anyone who will listen. This situation poses a clear and present danger to healthcare access and the stability of our nation. Yes. It’s a national security issue when healthcare collapses. We are, those who actually provide medical care, not the investors but doctors and nurses, lab techs and housekeeping. WE are MISSION CRITICAL. This threatens us, and our ability to serve. #privateequitymoneyandhealthcaredontmix #cerberuscapitalmanagement #stoptaxpayerbailoutsoftheoligarchy #corporatewelfare #malfeasance

"Today, we are the largest private, physician-led healthcare network - caring for millions of people across the US and beyond. Our transformative, fully integrated model represents a new beginning for America's healthcare system and others around the world." I often write about the BS and fluff on hospital websites, lobby banners, and billboards. Steward Health Care is ONE of the poster children for hubris and greed on steroids. The reality is, today they are a toxic cesspool with executives putting patients and employees at risk. A physician Founder and CEO for all those who insist only physicians own and/or operate hospitals. He's not alone. I'm still celebrating the HCA Healthcare physicians and nurses who went public with their safety concerns in hospitals. Silence is complicity. 💔 #healthcareonlinkedin

Am looking forward to our conversation tomorrow with attendees and fellow panelists Bill Akers of Premera Blue Cross, Kristy Carrington, MBA, RN, NEA-BC of Providence Swedish, Jose Reyes of Everett Community College, and moderator Dave Somers for this Economic Alliance Snohomish County #HealthcareSummit of 2023! I know the time is too short to discuss and cover their due time as weighty issues as #workforceshortage, #accesstocare, #healthequity, #healthdisparities, #healthcareinnovation and more. And/but we start with these and hopefully build on with ongoing dialog and towards common definitions, understanding, and unite, collaborate with our common purpose to ensure a #resilient and #personcentered healthcare system. It ALL begins not in healthcare...rather in our homes, communities, institutions, and organizations as the social drivers of health-- education, financial health and opportunity, access to housing/food, transportation, etc. As for access, I can share through #OptumWAdotcom, every Washingtonian, REGARDLESS of the insurer or PCP, already has access to care (#Evisits and #videovisits for #urgentcareondemand). With our #multispecialtycareprogram, for the appropriate clinical scenario, we will connect the patient who needs f/u with #specialtycareservices. Through our #physicianenablementservices of #OptumCareNetwork, all our PCPs in the network will have #Econsults available to give them specialty care support for their patients. Our #multipayer #OptumAcuteCareatHome, aka hospital-at-home program, has already increased hospital capacity in Snohomish county, just in time for the tridemic (RSV, flu, COVID) season and allow more surgeries and medical patients that require brick-and-mortar hospital stays. How does #valuebasedcare shape the care ecosystem??? Through these care models, care designs and re-engineering. Always appreciate the opportunity to learn from others and looking forward to this and continued dialog!
